Feather Groups and Bone Structure Study
1mo
Bo Han Qiu
I did a crow / raven study another one for the bird series. The way the wing feather groups are divided is so interesting. There’s also a strong connection between the feather structure and the underlying bones, which made me revisit the idea of “form follows function” once again. Every time I draw animals, it never feels like enough—once I finish, I want to do another. While researching, I realized crows and ravens are actually very similar in many ways. But they also hide plenty of subtle differences ravens are generally larger, and their tail feathers tend to be more pointed. Nature is full of clever, rich variations.
