Hey, @Dudts Draws, it's been several months since you've posted this artwork and you've probably moved on, but I just saw it and I should say I really like it! One of my favorite things about it is the way you painted the drapes, especially how you treated the light and shadow edges to convey the folds - great stuff! I agree with Steve's comment concerning the need for balance, and I can see how you may have pushed the gesture and lost track of the balance in the process, as you mentioned. It's a great gesture though, and I think it’s possible to make a few tweaks to regain balance while still keeping the same gesture and without changing much of the pose. I’m attaching a few images with a suggestion regarding how to do this and some extra visual notes. Despite my delay commenting here, hope you find this helpful!

I love the painting. Very well done. The first thing I thought when looking at it is that the foot on the left looked broken, at an odd angle from her body. Then I looked at the reference and saw that you pulled it exactly from there. Definitly not broken and natural. The interesting thing is that many time when you paint from life you will run into situations where something looks natural in reality but when painted takes on a whole new context. This is why it's so important to always judge the reference for how it will be perceived with your medium. I like the small adjustments you have made and it's good to get in the habit of doing this all the time. Of course my observation on the foot could be purely subjective for me alone. So it's up to you to make adjustments. My major point I guess is to steal ideas from life and begin to move away from copying it exactly. Hope that helps! Keep sharing your work!

Hey Dudts, I like your painting, it has nice gesture. The one thing I see is that your pose feels out of balance. Even though the body may be in motion, which would work, with the body covered in clothes and being obscured, it feels out of balance. I did a quick sketch to show you what I mean and what you could do to put the figure in balance. I hope this helps :)

yeh definitely, I didn't see that before you pointed it out 😅 Here's the photo reference I used (sorry for not posting it with the painting) I guess i exagerated the gesture too much and got it out of balance..
