Hello,
I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I can't seem to play the video. It loads as "completed" with the blue check with no playback option. Thanks for all that you do!

A first attempt at tracing, I'll probably have more submits in time for level 2 with different lighting and more drawings,
I'm just not sure about my choices as I choose to darken some stuff inside also, critique would be much appreciated

The same as before I just increased the thickness to make it more clear, However I still like more the first subtle one

Mr bat turns out to be challenging simply because he is upside down 🤣
But anyway it was a lot of fun, the little hat on his face is attached with ribbon but it just will confuse anyone looking at the head 🥲

My attempt to sketch from observation, the scanner is just giving me bad time, and there is no sun today to help me with a mobile photo 🥲

Thank you stan for all the effort.
My submission did appear while stan was scrolling, And I couldn't stop thinking about Mike Wazowski 😂 I tried to sketch it also with CSI

I used a liner because I felt good about it for sometime.
Regarding the camel I always felt that his front leg looks weird, so I added some lines to add some depth to his body behind the leg.
I tried to use S and C curves, but after a second look I feel that I complicated stuff, also after looking at the other submissions I can see how I can simplify more, probably I'll do it again

I used the 1st reference for the pear, then the portrait.
I used pencils years ago but then I switched to digital and last month ink. I never been consistent with drawing all those years so this course is my chance to build up my basics knowledge again and commit myself to learn the skill (I have to stop myself from writing this intro :) )

Regarding the pear, I didn't know when to stop getting the shapes accurate and when to improvise (not that my improvisation is good at all, I'm just exploiting my weakness) So feedback on shapes would be appreciated beside any wrong thing that you guys can see.
--
Now regarding the portrait, it almost broke me because of the task of simplification.
I can take a portrait and just try to make the best I can (which is not good ).
but this time simplifying the shapes to stick to hard edges, and simplifying the values into 5 was a big challenge, specifically I think I failed in simplifying the values down in the dark specially. what do you think guys.
--
BTW I think I need to figure out another way to upload the work other than the scanner Am I right?

those are the same images with camera instead of scanner, the lighter values is more clear here.

Side note : I know that the hair is disastrous so I just dealt with it as chunks of values :)

Hello All,
Happy to be here with you guys,
I used digital for those with default photoshop brushes.
I took a fundamentals course years ago and since then I wasn't consistent in drawing even stopping for long time, I tried to return back last year.
But I found that my fundamentals needs to be reviewed in terms of the visual language that Stan is talking about, regardless of the subject matter I try to learn.

I know it is just a small sketch, however a mistake in the shadows part was annoying me :)
I changed one of the values in the shadows to the left, as an attempt to separate dark and light values. according to a note from Stan in one of his videos.
