I just got back into art after a couple months away. I made several basic mistakes but this was a good assignment to refresh some of those art concepts we spent mastering up to this point in the class.

This was a tough assignment but I really enjoyed it. You can tell that I started my VR girl too big and ran out of room so I tried to map out my "spider hand" sketch before getting started as a correction. I've never drawn a hand or an arm before so that was an interesting challenge. Getting the lines right on the penguin was a fun challenge. I really tried to make my "s" curves and "c" curves show some movement in this sketch. Overall, I really struggled with line darkness. Some of my sketch lines were too dark from the beginning and I ended up having to erase many of them and try again so that I could go back and darken only the line that felt right. I really felt like I grew a lot from this assignment applying all the skills we've learned in this course up to this point.

I really struggled with the boots and I think I may have oversimplified them.

I tried the overhand method a bit. I struggled with not being spotty when I shaded. I tried really hard to show sharp edges but it doesn't appear that way. Anyway, I'm excited to start my art journey but really nervous to show anything to the community. Thank you for any feedback.
