I usually use a really narrow, thin, box cutter for my staedtler HB (and others) pencil... and of course a sandpaper to complete the job :D
Plus, it's quite relaxing doing it, you take your time, no rush...
Thank you for this tip! I just ordered a soft grip version…It will be so much easier to hold.

soften that sharp corner of the wood a bit so it doesn't get in the way when using the side.
