Hi everyone, my name is Mackenzie! My movie would be a fantasy adventure set in the near future. I love libraries and have always wanted to take a road trip around the country to collect library cards, but in this movie libraries have been forced to operate secretly due to censorship and the apocalypse. Regardless, I set out undaunted and pay my way by working as a Tinker in the settlements I visit. Along the way I make friends with the new librarians while compiling a map of all the libraries I've visited. But keeping a record of my friends' locations may not have been wise . . . This is my first challenge on here so I'm glad I was able to finish in time. I ended up spending way too long on the composition and line art, and the perspective was very challenging. I'm having fun though, so I'm looking forward to doing more of these challenges!

I really like the composition in this piece and how my eyes are led through the characters. I feel that the text is placed a bit too low. Buildings, characters and perspective are awesome too.

Greetings to everyone! And here is my film poster... It is made for a story I began to write, inspired from my love for classical music; there are several correlations to my life, but only as inspiration for the story. I should note that the audience is photobashed, and for anyone that cares for the story, the synopsis is below :) Lessons from a Grand Piano The story follows a boy named Mel, who is raised by his musically inclined parents. The movie initially focuses on the strong bond that is created between Mel and his father while he teaches him to play on the family grand piano. Mel’s father (aside from a loving parent) becomes a best friend and a teammate.   Mel is a very competitive and curious boy who loves to experiment. His character synergizes with his immense talent, and with his father’s guidance he quickly learns to play piano and violin; by age 8 he is considered a piano prodigy, and by age 11 he has composed his first opera…his future looks remarkable. We fast forward to his late teens, where he meets a beautiful and provocative girl that is mixed with the wrong crowd. She introduces him to an adventurous (delinquent) lifestyle that contrasts greatly with his disciplinary younger years. This new world is exciting and arousing, but gradually pulls him away from his first love (the piano). Mel's father tries to help him realize his missteps, but he won't listen and confrontations between them over the piano become increasingly frequent.   One day, during one of their (now seldom) piano lessons, a hostile argument breaks out where Mel pushes his father away, uttering some very nasty comments. As a mature and understanding parent, his father is able to deflect the barrage of emotional assaults, turns things around, and calms Mel down enough to get to the lesson. Although it’s a rough start, his father is able to channel Mel’s emotions into the music, and they end up having a great time, just like they used to. The session ends with a feeling of joyous redemption...things are getting back on track; however, this is the turning point of the movie. Mel will never (really) see his father again, as shortly after he leaves this lesson, his father has a fatal heart attack.    Devastated, Mel blames himself, but most of all he blames the piano, as the reason for the quarrels and his father's passing. He vows on the memory of his father to never play again. As Mel retreats into solitude, the girl confronts him about his sudden disappearance; he lashes out at her, and throws part of the blame onto her. He breaks up with the girl, drops all his dreams of becoming a concert pianist and composer, and goes on to work in his family's business.   The story picks up again 5 years later, where he meets the girl once more; however, she is very different from the person he met in his teens. She is caring, kind, non-materialistic, spiritual, decisive, and very persistent. They bond, and she is able to ground him, reawaken him and help him realize his dream.  But most notable is that she helps him reunite with his father, and to ultimately forgive himself (the grand piano plays a big role here).  kudos to you!

Practicing the loom is head. I am happy for anybody’s critique!

Hello Sylvianna, and nice studies :) I'm no expert, but it feels to me like the jaw/chin on the bottom right head is just a bit skewed towards the right. I drew a lot of boxes in space, which I believe help see the planes of the head in space.

Used the Proko-3D Model and after some practice, I tried drawing off a ref pic. Off topic: Also tried to give her lips a wet look. Not sure when it is best to start trying to draw the Loomis 3D model from imagination. But when I try anything with a tilt or angled camera, it comes out a bit wonky (so I'm guessing I'm not ready).

I think you're ready to start practicing them from imagination. Just cause they're not perfect when you try doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Figure out why they look wonky and then try to fix them!

I think you are ready to draw loomis model from imagination. No time like the present! Nice drawings by the way!

Honestly they´re very good. Even the one you point out the bottom plane feels off. I would push the outer line of the jaw just a little bit up, But right now I would consider this a success. After you put anatomy, clothes over this structure this kind of error disappear. About using the reference or drawing from imagination. Do both. Is important to keep drawing from reference so you build up a good memory library and also draw from imagination to test how much you really understand the subject. About the mouth. It looks wet, but it also look like she's using a very strong red lipstick (beware of darker values). Structure is very nice, though. Best Regards
