These were fun and complex! I'll be doing a couple more over the weekend, really love how translucent grapes are and how they catch light.

Also, I've been looking around my apartment for cool stuff to take photo of, found some cool translucent and frosted dice and my kids' cup. I'll be playing around with lighting these in a different way, very fun.

Well, layers and blenders definitely helped a lot here! The nuances and the reflections on the glass sphere were a fun time sink, ha! You can really get lost in the detail.

Here is my first attempt. I will do the other pictures soon. I did it in Krita without the eyedropper tool. It took me about thirty minutes. I'm not completely happy with everything, especially the terminator, but I got to a point where I kept tweeking it with no improvement. I'm new to painting and also fairly new to digital, almost all my previous drawings have been traditional. So I'm very grateful for any feedback and tips!

I think you did a great job on figuring out the proper tones! You might want to try smoothing out the transition at the terminator and removing the dark ring around the highlight.

Did the first B&W sphere, and I quite enjoyed it! I'll continue with a few more attempts at B&W as suggested, then do a color version here and post.

Approaching this in stages as described really keeps thing simple and helpful in later stages. I found it helpful to turn the cylinders into a kind of a "bread" shape by just "slicing" off one part of it to give it hard edges.

@Jeremy Vickery Will there be some kind of feedback/critique on assignments?

I followed along, and a lot of this just made so much sense. The "1/2 & 1/3" system is such a nice simplification of what usually feels like a daunting thing.

This was fun, had a warmup with just level 1 bloxes, then did the level 2. Some done from imagination, some from reference. I'll be adding these to my regular practice!

I also have the question asked by Chris… only female references or male too?

It's only the female model from the preview, and photos are not censored in the bundle.

These were intended to be 5 min, but ended up ~10 min each. Fun!

I probably misunderstood the assignment but I had fun learning like this. I started with gesture and tried to add more detail and find the landmarks. I'll reiterate over this practice when I look at Stan's examples in next three videos, didn't want to look forward before trying it this way.

Here's my attempt, I wanted to push myself a bit by positioning the observer in the corner of an arcade room. It was fun! The right side of the room that's further away from the vanishing point was hard, my free-hand lines were bending a lot. I need to practice longer, straight lines more.

I found myself getting lost in the detail and proportions too often and forgetting about the rhythm, will have to repeat a few times with more refernece for practice!
