Good question. We've completed several of the milestones on our current roadmap but some features take a lot longer to develop than others. Everything we've included is still being worked on and are future features we plan to release on Proko. I'll talk with Stan and see if we can reorganize the feature set so it's a bit more clear what's being worked on right now.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've forwarded these notes to our dev team so they can review them. I think some of these features would be great to implement.

Thanks for the suggestion! An app is definitely in the cards but it's currently on the lower end of our priorities. I agree with you that it would be great to have as a viewing option.

For some reason I'm only seeing the thumbnail of the video (as a photo) and there's no play button for the video itself. Has anyone else had this issue? I've gotten the same error on mac, ipad & iphone.

Final update: All videos have now been fixed and should be playable in browser! Please let me know if you run into any additional issues! Otherwise enjoy the course content and thanks again for being patient while we fixed this issue!

Update: Our devs think they've found the issue and we're trying to solve it. If you are unable to load the video right now you can still download the lesson for offline viewing in the download tab. Thanks for being patient.

I'm so confused, it's not playing the video in the browser, and when I download the video it starts off saying it's the video for the third lesson? where's lesson 1 and 2? O:

hey @gabemartini! All videos should be showing in browser now. I believe Josh had previously had a different order for his lessons on gumroad, but we've slightly adjusted the order here for this course since it includes additional content. Sorry for the confusion.

which necessary basic skills should I achieve before learning this course.

If you don't have basic fundamentals taught in Stan's Drawing Basics course and some knowledge of figure drawing I would start those first before learning anatomy.

Are we able to download and keep each lesson? Does the course expire? Thanks!

I don't remember seeing the brush files when I was helping him upload this course, but I'll double check with him and get back to you about it.

What is the difference between this course and your Gumroad "Figure Drawing and Anatomy Bundle"? The bundle on Gumroad is cheaper, so if it's the same I prepare to pay less.

That bundle doesn't include Josh's leg or arm sections or the shading lesson while this course does.

Are you talking and explain in the videos? or it's just videos with music?

No critiques are guaranteed in this course, but I'll ask Josh if he'd consider doing some community critiques from time to time.

@juicyj72 have you started Stan's figure fundamentals course? It contains a bunch of free lessons that can get you started on the subject - https://www.proko.com/course/figure-drawing-fundamentals/lessons

The pose feels a bit stiff. Did you try drawing a few quick gestures of this pose yet? I'm a beginner, but the composition itself seems pretty solid.

@jpcardier I think one thing you can work on is separating your values. I would say there's only 3 distinct values in your drawing here and I think you can separate them a bit more. If you do attempt this exercise again I would also focus on simplifying the ear. It looks like you tried to spend a bunch of time detailing that part of the portrait instead of simplifying it into a few key shapes. Overall not a bad first attempt!

My understanding from Stan is that we're about half way through the course right now. As for intermediate courses, there's actually intermediate projects within the course that you can tackle if you're done with beginner projects. We've also got the perspective course in the works that we hope to release in the later part of 2024 for presale. Beyond that I would look at Stan's figure drawing fundamental course. Hope this helps!

Hey @Dennis Yeary, while I understand your appeal to use AI, I personally wouldn't use it to complete/color art and here's a few reasons why... You Lose Your Personal Touch: AI doesn't get your unique style or the emotions behind your art. The result might not feel as genuine or connect as well with your audience. Too Much Tech Dependency: Relying on AI can stunt your own skills and leave you hanging if you need to go solo without AI help. Ethical and Art Integrity Issues: Many artists debate the use of AI, and some see it as cutting corners, which could affect how people view your work. Can't Predict AI: AI can be a wild card. It might not get your vision right, leading to extra work to fix things up. Copying and Copyright Problems: AI might unintentionally copy stuff from its training, which could lead to questions about whether your art is original or if you're stepping on copyright toes. Missing the Emotional Connection: Art's big on emotions, but AI doesn't really get that, so it might miss those important emotional touches a human artist would add. While AI might make things faster, using it could take away the personal and emotional elements that make your art stand out. It's worth weighing these points to keep your art true to you. Hope this helps :)
