So as you can see i did not really understand the assignment at first, wasn’t until I watched the demo that I understood what we were really trying to do, which starts at the 6th image on here. This project was by far the most frustrating for me to execute but also the one where I learned the most. It is actually quite tough for me to boil something into its most important elements using simple shapes, while simultaneously still making it look like that thing.

Couldn't help myself and did 4 projects from 3 masters. The first 2 are from Q Hayashida, the third is from Yoshitaka Amano, and the last one is from James Jean.

Second attempts are from after watching the demo

Throughout this course I’ve had a bad habit of running out of space on the paper (thankfully managed to avoid that with VR girl). Would love some tips on how to avoid that in the future. I am a beginner but am gonna try out the Sketch from Imagination project just to see where it goes. Wish me luck!

Originally only did the snail but after watching the demo and following along I felt like something clicked for me so decided to back and try the rest. Think I did a good enough job with the proportions and line work with skelly man but I spent too much time on it and need to learn to simplify more. It seems like the more detailed the reference is the harder it is for me to break it down to its most simple components.

Had a really hard time with this one, couldn't figure out how to warp the shell around the body without overly complicating it. Definitely gonna try it one more time before I watch the demo but critiques are welcome.

Got to drawabox lesson 3 but thats the only experience I’ve had with drawing so far, excited to work my way through this course. First time drawing with pencil, would love some feedback on how to improve on my next project. Second pear is the one after I watched the demo.
