For me the elipses are not the hard part, but putting down pressure at the right time is. When I try to adjust my pressure THEN I mess up the elipses. Any tips?

I found it easier when I draw very lightly at first and vary the pressure only on the second or third “round”.

I have the same problem. I slowed down a little and changed direction too which both helped a bit. Still not right all of the time.

Are you heavy handed when you draw? if so, relax your pressure when you're laying down lines and draw w/ your arm not your wrist. If you tend to make lighter lines apply more pressure but not too much you'll tear the paper. Remember thick to thin, thin to thick.

I had the same problem. Drawing the ellipses slower did the trick for me. Though in the beginning slower also meant having a harder time drawing even ellipses ;)

Pearl #2 and #3. This is way harder than you make it look. Edges don't feel defined and the values are hard to control. Long road ahead for sure. The silhouette on #2 feel way better than #3
