I'm an artist aspiring to improve on my skill sets so that one day I can draw for animations.

20 & 25 minute ink sketches. Didn't have access to the reference pack, but I really wanted to challenge myself with inking armor. I felt pressured to keep every armor piece clean and clear since I was using inks and because of that, my figures got way too stiff. But I'm still gonna consider it progress.

In trying to figure out the anatomy of each figure, I ended up losing the energy of the poses. Hoping I can get better at simplifying poses in shorter sessions.

Geometric shapes are my worst enemy.

Couldn't draw as much as I wanted to. Thought I'd try experimenting with micron pens and markers. It was incredibly frustrating not being able to erase my mistakes, but it also was relieving to just move on and get the messy lines out. Both are 20 minutes.

I don't have access to the daily ref packs but I still wanted to try practicing gestures. I think I'm still struggling with these because I'm trying so hard to keep the anatomy proportions intact instead of just following the movement.
3 minute expressions. Definitely want to go back and practice more with these.

Didn't draw as much. But I slowed down & tried to focus only on gesture and drapery. Folding fabric overwhelms me, but going at a slower pace helps me dissect each of the shapes.

25 min faces. I missed the mark and focused too much on details. Blocking shapes into simple forms is tough for me because I over think things in general. Ahhh

15 minute mermaids. This was super hard! I really need to brush up on blocking down anatomy on top of gesture.

I've gotten REALLY rusty with constructing hands. Started with 5 min. hands & worked my way up to 10 min. during work.

14/14 Forgot to post this from yesterday. I wish I could have challenged myself to draw something more 'exciting' but I think I needed to keep the subjects simple to stick to the daily drawing. I'm relieved I was able to keep up with the challenge.

13/14 It was tricky trying to draw the curved sides of the mouse. I think these are good practice for warm up sketches.

12/14 I guess I wanted to try working the perspective of rounded corners. Idk if cross-hatching goes against the line drawing rule but I think it helped me visualize the 3D forms better.

11/14 I was trying to fill the page and wound up messing up the placement of the buttons. This is just a reminder for me to pay closer attention to where things are in relation to where everything else is placed.

10/14 Drawing my hands during lunch. Excuse my dry looking hands lol, it's still snowing here.

Day 10 - Dinosaur Toy , wasn’t happy how yesterday’s came out, tried again with a little more structure. Looks more “scratchy” but I think a better representation.

9/14 Worked most of the day and didn't have anything interesting to draw. Did these sketches of my walkie during lunch.

8/14 Had a hard time trying to nail the perspective on this one. It's tough trying to make my sketches look clean.

7/14 Forgot to post my drawings since I'm back at my day job. This was really hard! I struggled so much with the laces. I'm hoping once I start the CSI assignment I can simplify the forms into easier shapes.
