This was a toughie! I spent most of the exploration sketches trying to find an "essential possum-ness" that would come through well in the drawing. I'm not too happy with most of them, but wanted to take the leap and show my thought process. I will definitely be doing this with some more animals in the future. :)

I missed the major angle of VR Girl, but I'm overall happy with these sketches. After watching "Searching Lines", I think I'm ending up closer to "messy" instead of "searching". I will keep that in mind for next attempts.

Here are a few pears & a portrait from the provided references. Fun exercise - I found identifying the light halftone & the darkest shadow to be very challenging. Any feedback is welcome & appreciated. :)
