Thanks for the challenge proko, this was hella fun to make :) The first image was an ancient spaceship found in a forest and the second one was basically jellyfish that has a flower grows on it's body idk what to call it. Originally i was planning to make 4 of these but then realized it took one day just to make two apparently.

So this is my color lay in. The concept is based on a poem I wrote a while back, called Miracle. It's about constantly moving forward, chasing something distant and undefined. I wanted to give it a slight fantasy/ethno/adventure twist. Does that come through? Any critique, especially on the background, is welcome.

Hey, i like the concept of moving forward, once i read the text it became very clear what is going on. before reading... i just enjoyed the drawing;) I dont think the shiny thing is ment to be on a hirizon line but i'd still recomend lowering it. It would seem to be more of a destination point that you can walk to than a sun or star that is above... just a thought.

Well, I really wasn't feeling the last idea so I went back to the drawing board. Here are some thumbnails of my new idea. What do you think and does anyone have any further suggestions perhaps of colour combinations and such. Which one do people like the best?

I can't suggest anything you're asking but i can say, i like the left one (with orange body) the most. The form is very well visible, the lightning is well placed, adding the silhouette from the middle one would make it the best!

So, i almost finished the scene, i already "orcified" my face, i'll have to ask my girl to pose for me so i can do the same with her-that should be fun:D I'm especially proud of the vegan bagXD and i'm really not sure what to do wtih the background... I tried different things, this came out the best but i think it could still be better. I fixed the things Edwin Lozano pointed out, the child is now bigger and i added "sale" banner to compensate for the hammer... Any comments are more than welcome!

Damn, you're fast! And it's looking great! Do you plan to take it to a more realistic render? I don't know what critisize... The colors look good, maybe the girl in the back could be more contrasted so she would pop out more but i'm not sure you'd want that. That electricity belt taht cuts through panda seems a bit distracting and not clear what it is. Trying to be helpful but lacking in knowledge, it's hard to say if something could be better much less explain how to make it soXD great job!

Howdy! Nice to meet everyone! I rendered this lil' idea for a horror movie about a fear I used to have about falling asleep. (Wild, I know!) It would be lovely to have some fresh eyes double check if, the technical composition and the story within my composition makes sense. Cheers, and nice to meet everyone again!

This is hard to look at! The composition looks good, what i would point out is the blurred effect on the nose-more of that could make the piece even more scarry-thriller-dream-like. LIke the poster form "The Ring" with that semi-blurred circle... Just an idea;)

hey everyone ... here is what I have so far ..my life movie poster is based on a classical anime battle adventure. That s base on the premise "What will happen if your art can come to life?". In a world where there are special girls called muses who has the power to bring art to life that expels a certain special aura that can only be granted when the artist love and care for his art to a high degree ....one of these special girls believe in the art of the protagonist and choose him to be her guardian against malevolous entities that wants the power of the muses to rule and change the very nature of our world.  pretty basic. hahaha tell me what you think.

Hey, i have no problems connecting what you wrote with the second image (with panda in the background) while the first one is far less explainatory... So i'd vote for panda;)

Ok, so i had a handfull of ideas, but whatever idea i follow, i come to the parody genre. So the idea i'm going with is warcraft parody. I tried different poses and settled for the one i'm drawing-a warrior orc, living in a westernized orc clan, with his mate giving him shopping bags to hold so she can continue her shopping spree while their young is drawing hearts or something sweet on his war hammer. Any thoughts, suggestions, ideas?

I think I'm pretty close to the limits of my ability now! Thanks everyone for the feedback, I've made some changes and added colour (this is the first time I've actually coloured something seriously digitally...): - Made it portrait to fit movie poster theme better - Changed land mass to be more like earth and less like the DragonRiders source material - Made space for the lettering and added some example title (a take-off of the DragonRiders of Pern book) and writing to the second image (I'm not a writer if it's not obvious :P) -- As earlier, the theme is fantasy, inspired by the Anne McCaffrey Dragon books combined with my love of observing insects, wasps in particular. Feedback welcome, I'm starting to fiddle too much with little bits so need the big issues pointed out to me. I didn't think I'd enter this contest as this amount of work scares me, but I'm having fun and glad I did :)

Hey, i like the image a lot, but i'm not sure it's the best choice for the poster, because the main actor/character/you is so small... I'd definitely recomend to bring the wasp and it's rider closer to the camera, so close it's about to crash in the camera. Or maybe i just like the wasp so much i want more of it on the image:))

How does it feel to you so far, before I render it out? Not too sure about the title/logo thing on the top. Maybe I'll get rid of the texture? (might have taken some artistic liberties with the ''your life'' part of the assignment:) just a bit:D)

I already started working on it! I'm still a novice but I feel that I rarely flex my creativity muscles and I think this is a great place to start! Had 2 ideas, and now I'm working on one to see how far can I take that one. I'll be sure to post my advancements so I can get some feedback :D

@Roon the skulls look great, the painted is half finished-spending more time on finishing would make it look even better. I would encourage you to use the lines in your drawings for shading with more care-use lines' direction to help communicate the shape.

I don't quite understand but it seems to me that what you want to do is not an ellipse in perspective but a circle in perspective. So, I'm attaching a little sketch I made in a hurry and it's rather ugly, just to help me with the explanation (I've always had a bad technical stroke, even using a drafting table, let alone a ballpoint pen on a notebook, considering that I'm not used to drawing on paper anymore. I just don't feel like opening photoshop right now! 😅😅) OK, when you want to draw a figure in space you have to make sure you have as many reference points as possible. Therefore, as you have rightly guessed, you have to start from a square, in which you will inscribe the circle (a circle whose circumference will have to touch all 4 sides of the square, which is not the case in your drawing), only in your drawing the construction of the square that should guide you is already wrong. So, first you will draw a square in the plane, inside which you will draw the circle. Then you will draw the vertical axis, the horizontal axis and the two diagonals. In this way you will have 8 reference points. You will draw the vertical points on the line where the observer is positioned (I don't know what it's called in English, basically the horizontal line at the bottom of your perspective plane) and the vertical points by means of 45 degree projections, as you can see in my (ugly) sketch. In this case we have two points of view: towards one the vertical points will be directed and towards the other the horizontal points. At the points where they meet you have the 4 corners of the square, which you will use to determine the diagonals and thus find the centre of the square. Using the centre dividing lines and diagonals, you will then construct your circle in perspective, making sure that the circle touches all 4 sides of the square. It requires a bit of practice but this is the procedure for 2 point prospective (Keeping in mind that my sketch totally sucks! 🤣🤣🤣)

Hello there! This is my first attempt at drawing a skull and paint it aswell. Drawing the skull was challenging because of all the crack and details it has. So I kind of left some of those details out. The painting itself.. Well.. It was my first time. I could have left it as it is, but that would be kind of boring. So I went ahead and challenge myself to paint it. Let me know what you guys think. Any critiques are welcome. Many thanks for taking your time looking at my artwork.

@rokdem
Hi! I think the skull came out great if this was your first attempt! I would comment on your approach, though. If you never tried a skull and never painting means you tried to get a handle of two things at a time, which makes it super difficult. It would be better to try and draw a skull and instead of painting over it, draw it again. Or just paint something much easyer and work with that before going for the skull. Draw/paint more and post:)
