A female spirit I made up as a sequence to my axolotl mermaid. The savubeh roams the scorched fields after a wildfire, leaving a trail of fireweed behind. I used Channon for the pose reference, though obviously I had to change quite a few things about her to fit the design.
Hello Marco, I wonder how do you feel on speed regarding paintings? I feel like I am getting progressively slower as I work the same hours but my paintings take longer and longer to complete. I’d like to think it is because I put more thought into my process and add necessary detail, but is it acceptable for an illustrator to work 2-3 weeks on one painting? I wonder what your experience with painting and speed has been like. I appreciate the feedback :)

Have you thought about the learning curve aspect of it? You have been improving like crazy lately and maybe you hit a steeper part of it. You have become more conscious of your brushwork and value grouping, which are things that take time at first (at least in my experience) until you get a routine and feel for them.
Asked for help
Hi, Scott! Thank you for doing an AMA for us. Do you have any tips on starting out with character design from an illustration basis? How to combine and approach studying anatomy, shape design, value grouping etc?
Hi, Marco! Love your videos on color. I'm curious how your artistic time is allocated - commissions, freelance work, studies, courses, etc? What is it you are focusing on right now and how do you juggle multiple projects at once?
Just a dream. Just a fantazy. Just for fun. Thank you for June 2021 Proko Challenge. It's so wonderful to fulfil our dreams through the art.
P.S. please look at my artwork in the original, because there are a lot of dead pixels on preview.

PLOT
"Reverie" is a film about my personal experience drawing and painting fantasy creatures. Creating fantasy worlds in our heads is something that I'm sure every one of us do often. With that premise, I thought about a story where I fall sleep looking at the moon on a full moon night, when I wake up everything seems extrange to me, I am in another world.
That world is there for me, I get lost in all its majesty and greatness. Wild life in this fantasy world conforms a rich enviroment of new species and I feel the need to draw them so that I have notes of every creature, every piece of land.
On my way I meet unknown creatures such as the ones you see on the film poster, who help me find a way to return to my world at the same time we fight dangers and discover secrets well hidden.
After living an adventure with theese characters, I have to make the final decision, do I want to go back to life or do I want to stay there forever? Will I ever remember this world?
THOUGHTS
My main idea was to create an "8" composition with all the characters involved in the plot. I also wanted me to be on the bottom with the book so that creatures looked like they are coming from the book somehow. I wanted to avoid making them literally coming out of the book but rather make the book the base of the painting so that hopefully it has that feel of giving life to everything.
Hope you like it, you guys are all very skilled, can't wait to see all submissions left.

Hello fellow artists! I chose to do an animated film that is a drama based on the past year of being stuck inside and how I’m trying to make more efforts to get outside.

Love how you composed all the elements. I was looking at your piece while I was trying to add my text and was amazed at how well you made it work.

Hi everyone! See your amazing artworks make me feel so proud to be a part of this community. Here is my submission for this month Proko Challenge. I wanted to make an animated film in an anime style. I want it to be magical and dreamy. If I could dream to live in this world, I wouldn't want to wake up.
I imagine myself in this imaginative world where Naomi lives with the Three Mighty Giants, who represent for Hope, Imagination and Love. She has her own adventure in this magical world and her mission is to protect this world of her own. These three Giants bring Hope and Love to people, and unlock their imagination, which is the core of this land. And in order to protect the Giants, she has to make sure everyone is filled with loves and hopes and dreams, so that they cannot be consumed by the Darkness.
I feel like this is my constant battle where I have to fight myself not to be eaten by depression. I turn my family and friends in to the Three Giants because I'm lucky to surrounded by them who have always been believing in me. Thus, I did not give up on this dream and hopefully one day I will become a professional artist.
Imagination allows us to speak in our own voice and I am astonished by our community. I wish everyone the best on your journey!

I'd watch that! It looks very wholesome, a bit like a mix of Moana or Where the wild things are.

Here is my entry "SEAL Team 9", an action-adventure military/spy film about mermaids who were rescued by and join a new US Navy SEAL Team where they go on top-secret classified assignments around the world.
Since 2019 I've been working on creating a story that combined two of my main interests that I've tended to draw: "tacticool" military and sensual mermaids. With this SEAL Team 9 was born, and I've been trying to come up with a story to follow up on that. I wanted to create a different kind of story involving mermaids that isn't just another "Little Mermaid". I'm drawn more to the high-stakes world of special operations and unconventional warfare, and what interesting challenges, opportunities, and threats this team will face.
My art style is more influenced by comics, and this was an interesting challenge for me to come up with something on fairly short notice. Luckily, I did have an inked line art sketch done during last month's MerMay 2021 art challenge, so I figured I'd turn that into an action movie poster. I've learned a few things in the process, and quite happy with what I was able to produce on short notice.

Hello! here is my submission for the Proko Challenge (:
for a year I've been struggling to draw consistently because of the pain on my hand , and it greatly affects my income and mental state while drawing as I cant focus on the piece, at first I wanted to make a more serious poster but that doesn't really sit well , as I like drawing wacky stuffs more, hence the cheesy B-movie themed poster.
had fun making this one as it not only let me explore stuffs I wouldn't normally go to in art , it also helped me look at my life as of now , went on an emotional ride while thumbnailing and choosing themes for the poster i wanted lol
i hope you enjoy the picture and goodluck to everyone joining in on the fun!

HELLO everyone, here it is my movie poster.
I tried to create a poster for a sci-fi movie, which would be center around a journey between planets, self-discovery and improvement.
Those were and are topics of great interest to me, especially anything related to astronomy. Since I can remember, I have been fascinated by what is out there, but more recently I have been on a self-journey and try to understand myself, so I decided to combine those topics into a sci-fi movie.
Hope you all like it.

My submission for Proko challenge, it was made with blender and photoshop, here the WIP: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/3dGxlo
The concept is the "shift" that happened when my girlfriend entered my life. She helped with my social anxiety represented here by the dark side of the city. Also the city and the bench are used to allude my profession, architecture, which is also a big part of my life. The movie would be something like a slice-of-life/thriller.

I am in love with the classic painted Hollywood movie poster aesthetic, especially horror ones. It's amazing how busy, bright and colourful they were compared to their modern counterparts! So, I've decided to take every artist's nightmare and the story of my life essentially, and turn it into a classic scary flick. Enjoy! I'm sure you all can relate ;P
Painted digitally from scratch.

Here is my submission for my very first #procochallenge.
If my life was a movie it will be an animated adventure
C.O.I or "Conflict Of Interest" is simply about me juggling the stress of school and art.
Growing up i have always managed to balance my academics with my passion for art but there is always that conflict of interest at every point in time where I have to choose between learning or practising art.
I am now in medical school where the academic load is enormous so the art is suffering but I still find some few hours to squeeze in a portrait study or participate in a challenge such as this.
Poster design was done in Adobe photoshop
I hope you love the design.

Awesome concept! It makes me think of one of Studio Ghibli's posters. It has a very fresh and curious feel to it.

Hi!
This is my entry, this was the first time i ever painted on a format this big! Quite the challenge indeed.
This is a tiny little mouse making the the world it lives in a tiny little bit more fun.
This movie would follow the little mouse protagonist, as it would struggle to find its place in the world, a place where it feels like it belongs, its trusty paintbrush always by its side, and together they learn to view the world in a new, intuitive, creative way, far from all the expectations it doesn't quite understand and reimagine it to make more sense and more fun.
It would certainly be an animated movie.
I tried to make it so the mouse is not as obvious, like it could just be a landscape.
Done with acrilic paints.
I see a others added a title for their poster, i'm not good with fonts and Things, and i barely finished in time as is. Hope you like it anyway :)

Oblivious Dark was my first ever poetry book I published at the age of 16. I wrote about my inner struggles and how it affected me. This poster shows two sides of me. My past depressed self and my present spiritual self. It's really impressive to see how far I have come and how my nature has changed over the past couple of years. Even though my mother committed suicide when I was 7, I kept God as my companion which made my life a whole lot easier.
Oblivious Dark was my first ever official poem:
"As I walk alone in the midst of oblivious dark,
The mist through which I gaze a tiny spark
Is it hope in cold or a cold hope?
I knew not I would be so lost.
As I listen to silence in the midst of oblivious dark
The thundering rain in my ears leaves no mark
Is it peace in pain or painful peace?
I knew not my voice would cease.
As I wonder thoughtlessly in the midst of oblivious dark
The notes to discern of distant lark
Is it bliss in solitude or solitary bliss?
I knew not my praying hands would become fists. "

I love it! How fun is it that mine was based on a poem with similar tone? I really felt your message there and you interpreted it beautifully in the image, too.
