Awesome. I’d relish seeing the beeswax added, and details to that.
LESSON NOTES

Want more? There’s a ton of useful information for sculptors in my full courses!

In this lesson, we’ll focus on mixing muted colors with affordable clay from the dollar store. You’ll see how you can create subtle hues that will enhance your sculptures. We’ll also cover blending clay colors, showing why softer tones are sometimes better than bright ones and we’ll also look at the benefits of non-drying modeling clay. Expect some hands-on practice with color combos to achieve cool shades like dark tan and greenish-gray.

Today, we're going to talk about blending muted colors using some cheap clay you can grab from the dollar store. We’ll get our hands dirty trying out different color combinations to nail down some cool muted shades like dark tan, earthy brown, and a sort of greenish-gray.

If you mix the wax in , is it permanent? or is it for making originals that you can use to make a mold?
Andrew Joseph Keith
This is for mold making or to use as a reusable type of clay. If you want a clay you can bake in an oven then polymer clay is better for that.

I went to Dollar Tree the other day when passing by to get some of this clay, but didn’t find any. I wonder if it’s in stock a lot or little?
Andrew Joseph Keith
You can also order it online and have them deliver a box of 20 packs for $1.25 each and then they let you know once it's available. I've done that in the past but I've also been told it was out of stock online once.
Andrew Joseph Keith
It's usually in stock but I almost always buy them out of stock when I see it.
