For this project, you will add midtones to your drawing:
- Draw the transition from dark to light across the larger forms.
- Darkest midtones should be near the line of termination.
- Gradually lighten the value as it approaches the center light.
- Add details on the lit side of the line of termination.
- Midtones should range between a number 3 and a number 1 value.
- No midtone should be as dark as the brightest part of a shadow.
- Look for patterns and organize anatomical details using midtone values.
- Every shift in midtone value indicates a change in topography.
- Think in terms of volume, with lighter areas turning towards the light source and darker areas turning away.
