Do you know what software is being used? I know nothing about digital art platforms, but I'm trying to change that. I'm taking this video in the sampler course pack because I'm trying to figure out what I need before I buy anything.
LESSON NOTES

Course Description: Learn how to design monsters from the ground up! This character concept course teaches you the process of going from a sheet of brainstormed ideas to a compelling piece of digital art. Along with learning the fundamentals of monster design, professional artist and game developer Scott Flanders will also be focusing on teaching you his shapecarving technique. You’ll get to see how Scott iterates on concepts and chooses specific elements to zero in on and learn why the devil is in the details. Finally, there's advice sprinkled throughout the course to help you adapt this process so that you can make it your own for any concept design jobs you tackle in the industry.

Full Course: Character Design Monster Lab by Scott Flanders

Your Instructor: Scott Flanders is the Chief Creative Officer at Little Bang Inc. Scott brings his creativity and experience to variety of areas including world building, visual development, and concept design, but he is especially passionate when it comes to designing fun and creepy creatures.

In This Lesson: In this lesson, Scott shows us how to construct a character line-up that best showcases his creations. This is where he will make decisions about relative scale to make the team look more cohesive together. Seeing the line-up come together can also reveal elements that are missing, and so you’ll see Scott pull from his other sketches to fill out the line-up.
