Assignment

Stage 1: Converting a grisaille into a color painting necessitates a lot more than a couple of glazes. In this series I am going to walk you through each and every step of the process. Our lesson has to start with what colours we have on the palette and then where we can start this painting procedure. In this video I will talk you through all of the choices and techniques that I use.

  1. At the beginning of this lesson we dive right into oiling out the surface of your grisaille painting, how to do it and some of the problems you might face.
  2. It isn’t that every step has to be made carefully when painting in oil, but they should be calculated. You can work alongside my demonstration and reproduce the steps I take at each stage to ensure the desired result- in this case a block in that is ready gets the most out of the grisaille stage and prepares you for a strong finishing stage.
