Hello, you could use more simple forms. It's good that you established a box first for the general perspective. But try to simplify the hippo in the simple forms. Right now you've just coppied what you see in the reference.
Your mannequin doesn't have to look exactly like the hippo you see in the ref, only the form/perspective needs to be the same. So try using cylinders/manipulated boxes only.
When we mannequinize a subject we don't want to focus on the details (ears, eyes, ..) We want to capture the general form/structure. It's okay if your mannequin doens't look exactly like your reference. So try to take a few steps back and use manipulated boxes and cylinders only.
