What Exactly Does the Follow Button Do?

Hello Proko Team.
What does the follow button do? (other than the rush of dopamine when you see an announcement that someone is “following” you 😉)
When I first started following, I expected to be able to see everything they do, but that doesn’t seem to be the case; so maybe there’s only a notification for top level posts? Please clarify this. Thank you ☺️.

@Teresa Bolen we're still playing around with the formula. Like @pinkapricorn you see only certain posts. Like every other social media site, we're trying to figure out a balance of the content that's shown to users. It can get overwhelming quickly if you see every post from every user you follow all the time.
@Teresa Bolen I'm following you and in your case yeah I just see your top and second level posts so, like, this thread and any top level replies you make to anything be it a thread, video, or whatever. Beyond that I don't see it unless I just happen to bump into it while using the site.
I wish there was at least an option to see everything from a particular person.
Thank you, @pinkapricorn 😊. If it were everything from everyone, it would be too much, but there are a few individuals from whom it would be nice to see everything. Maybe the only way to do that is to go to that person’s profile...lessons are great, but often it’s in the nitty gritty of an explanation that helps me arrive at a better understanding of something, or help me see that I haven’t been understanding something I thought I had. Maybe I’ll try that.
