Unfinished Work

Sometimes there is a moment in the middle of a painting that I think I should just stop- just leave it and preserve those thoughts. So much so I’ve though, while visiting other artist’s studios- I’d like to collect their unfinished work.

Agreed! I think sometimes you can work the life out of a Piece of art and I’ve often done that in my drawings. I think with sculpture, especially stone sculpture, there is a clearer finish line to work towards. Once it’s sanded, then it’s done.

I do like that idea of a process that has an end point. I can see what you mean about stone sculpture- I find it somewhat similar to the way that I paint. Drawing however, it takes SO much discipline to walk away.

I agree. I love unfinished drawings and paintings. This one is among my favorites that I've collected 😁
