📜 QUEST LOG · ENTRY #001 🗂️ Project: Proko Drawing Basics Course ⏱️ 32m · ⚔️ Values, Shapes, Edges 🎨 Graphite 📈 LVL 1 ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░░░░░ 58% → LVL 2 🕰️ All-time practice: 32m Session notes: I practice drawing from observation (photo of a pear). For this exercise the focus was on the basics of shapes, values, and edges and being able to take an object and simplify it. Also, today was my first time using a woodless pencil (I think that's what it is). It's all black and heavier than a normal pencil. It came in the standard KingArt kit from Walmart. It's a 4B pencil and I LOVED USING IT. Something about the weight in my hand was incredibly satisfying. What felt difficult?: Shapes and edges were easily the hardest part. The point of this exercise was to represent the object with hard lines and to only use sharp edges. I definitely didn't do that well. I constantly found myself trying to blend and blur to hide my deficiencies. What will I try next time?: Block out the shapes for everything including the values where I'm going to shade before trying any shading. If I try to round anything erase and re-draw. #FromLvlZero
