I see that this was discussed in the Draftsmen Podcast but I am sort of guy that thinks anything is possible and would have been cheering on the Wright Bros. I love space for this same reason. And ironically, space relates to this supposed topic I am putting forth. I am by no means a practiced proof maker for math theorems but since art invented the symbols for math, I still believe it is unnecessary to gain a proof where the 6th sense of self is assisted by such auxiliary information. Math is a tool and is not above the soul of the artist, because its birth is from his heart. Alongside all languages and symbology. ________________________________________ But my objective is not useless scope but application. By studying metaphor, I believe you are tapping the other name of "Pi". I think you can say to yourself, "I want ____ , ____, and _____ in my art. And then intentionally nest it up to always matrix a fun result. I will take a joking stab at procedural generation. When it is procedural from the computer side, it is conforming to regularity so that you recognize it and thus predictable and often off-putting. Kandinsky painted NOTHING in terms of direct representation and yet you are able to feel drawn to his work like hypnotism. That may be the work of primes. His work is often based on music and music is nothing but emotional math tempered to sound sad occasionally ahaha Imagination is a skill like any other and if you avoid math, you are not learning to think as spatially as you could be. Thus why Animators are encouraged to cross 2D-3D where possible. It augments your perceptions. To say that composition cannot be contained in math is pointless. I agree with it. Of course it can't. Nothing is static and all is changing. Composition is nothing but the study of time and relativity (which was proven TRUE in 2016 according to the LIGO center in Louisiana). So relatively speaking, everything is Gestalt Theory. Everything is a Zazen circle. All is metaphor at all times. Thus art. The math of metaphor is philosophy. The soul of art. Philosophically speaking, what if you took every idea in the world and made it into legos? Can you put them inside each other? Sanskrit nests its language like binary. Why not nest your lego ideas? That is how Kanji works in essence. Incessant of the present moment and it doesn't "lessen" when you get the "lesson" that that sound can be the same but the meaning different. At least I'm guessin... cause that's how Latin works too when I take your mind on a ride with A E I O U. ahahah There is a poem from China where the language is interpreted by the individual. The theme is a Forest and yet it generates infinitely. (lol Lost Woods?) Really every Japanese story is Primed because Buddhism comes from Hinduism and so Final Fantasy is in fact, the final fantasy. ahahh Prince 5 Weapons. Buddha. God. Man. It all blurs in math. Hence Joseph Campbell laughing so much in the end as well. Synesthetics have no choice but to be lego-brained, but I much prefer that it was understood and replicated as a tool. My theory is that Prime numbers are divergent thinking. Use Algebraic ideas on metaphors you are able to reduce the prime numbers issuing out forever like a 52 card deck in a shuffle. i.e. Convergent thinking. 2 like things. 1 unlike thing. 5 like things. 3 unlike things. 1 oddball thing. I think these natural combinations exist in plants and are thus pleasing naturally in some manner. Hence Kandinsky's ability to captivate with so little a topic at hand. Unordered, I think you just end up with a Jackson Pollock painting. That may have been his entire philosophy... to show you the chaos of the numbers. The method in the madness that makes madness methodical. Brunelleschi was also considered a little mentally odd if I recall correctly too. And wasn't it him that invented perspective on paper? Makes ya wonder why the Italian renaissance loved numbers so much too, but I believe they've been done to death TMNT style. What of Sengai and Yamaoka Tesshu? Where is Hakuin's laugh and my Daruma faces that Miyazaki likes to hide in his own version of Alice in Wonderland? (Sprited Away) What are you ideas on math in art? Does it prove itself like the shadow proving the sunshine? or is the sun and shadow one? Namaste.

I have a hard time understanding what you are saying. But I get the sense that it is right up my alley of thinking about things and that there is an interesting discussion to be had if only I understood it better and was better at verbalizing my thoughts. I'll be on the lookout for your posts and maybe someday I'll be able to bridge this gap. What seems relevant to the little bit that I do believe to understand is this: In a discussion between Iain McGilchrist and Jordan Peterson, Peterson mentions that he thinks of music as "the most representative of the arts. Because the world is made out of patterns and music describes how those patterns should be arranged." As I understand things, music, art and math (and other domains of knowlegde) are in a sense languages, with which one can represent the patterns of reality. Each of these languages has it's own strengths and weaknesses, by which it can become trivial or impossible to represent certain patterns in a particular language. These languages don't exist just externally in our environment and artifacts, but also internally, like our thoughts and intuitions. When creating art, one goal is to meaningfully arrange those patterns. Since some patterns are more difficult to express, say visually for example, by extension, they are also more difficult to think about visually. Therefore it seems reasonable to me that being fluent in multiple of these languages and being able to translate between them can help in creating art with more complexity, where the complexity meaningfully adds to the art, rather than being noise. Maybe more importantly though, knowing which patterns exist across languages, as opposed to patterns that only exist in one language, can help you select which patterns you want to represent to begin with.

Heya! I really appreciate you reading that wordy gob of mine. You picked up on everything I was laying down vey well! You've guessed it correctly that I, myself, am having trouble articulating this thing because of the language-math variable you asserted. I've been looking into Pollock, Van Gogh, and Seurat for the sake of comprehending their arrangements. It has been described as abstract and yet Pollock vehemently retorted when asked to draw more from nature that he "is nature" and so I do feel there is a glimpse a bigger w(hole) here than what has academically been explored. He pulled from something abstractly that applies to all. That is my theory. My intention, is killing more than one bird with one stone in this discussion. As a zazen practitioner, I do not care for borders of the mind. So I see the growing divide of Eastern and Western thought as a dividing principle that may affect the arts quite negatively. This talk may assist bridge such. As Stan Prokopenko is a man that I perceive as an admirer of the Library of Alexandria, I've decided to create as much writ as I can connecting numbers-to-language-to-composition as a way to weave higher thought. ________________ That's all well and good, but more to the point of defining this more, If you are aware of "Turbulence" in math, it is a phenomena that Van Gogh accurately depicts many times but only after his episodes of psychosis. It is currently a study by some such group of scientists. Simultaneously, Pollock is a man plagued with alcoholism. Running from something quite often and dies of drunk driving. His work becomes progressively less about depiction over his lifetime and something in him spurned that drip phase for 3 years. I have heard it said that he knew the style had run its course in popularity, but there is an inkling in me that he had said what he needed to say. His further work has dualistic attacks at the self and is reminiscent of eastern bleed of self-non-self. Ironically, Van Gogh was also influenced by the east in his own time as well when Japan opened up. Gestalt Theory is German but has the Zazen Circle at the core. I take a half circle "(" and another ")" and make "()" now there is 3 where 2 exists. 1 in total that is 3. Gestalt is the basis of a lot of design. And BauHaus Design School came about around the first world war. I think it is the beginning and unlocks cyphering. ___________________________________________________ Gottlieb invented binary when he followed Arabic numerals east to India and China. His Binary is developed from a large matrix of shapes that are Chinese as well as symbols that are still represented on the South Korean flag. These symbols are a cascade of algorithms in my eyes and is what I believe Kandinsky painted all the time listening to music. Wordsmithing is a similar cyphering of vowels. Music is ethereal. An idea expressed in math and vibration. And Sanskrit's oldest form of language is in fact 6 different algorithms of arranging shapes to form ideas. Kim Jung Gi I had never heard of before Stan introduced me to him via YouTube but I was raised in South Korean Choi Kwang Do. Even got kicked through a wall and have a blackbelt as some form of payment. ahahah We evolved our training using Jeet Kune Do afterwards and took every style that worked and left what hindered the body using Kinesiology. Our Sensei was a biochemical engineer. So I have always been aware of cross-training and deconstruction. This is the basis of South Korean language as a whole. It is designed to be understood in ONE day of intense study. Crazy right? So they are condensing data at an accelerated rate with the binary cypher you can witness ON their national flag. Kim Jung Gi spools lines with awareness. Awareness is a natural state but we unlearn it. The skill of it is very much distorted in Western cultures and to-be-frank I think branding (graphic design-wise) can in general destroy the ability for artists to achieve excellence by muddying awareness. ______________________________________ I do not care if you are a CEO or the kid I teach in 3rd grade. If you do not know something, you do not know it. There are no kings in art. As a bartender from Baton Rouge/New Orleans I server mayors and convicts equally. All men. Studios have made this mistake and now independence will erode the current feudalism we have seen of late. Restaurant is a lot like Studio. Contractors and visionaries making livings off the products in real time. I took a trip through "A Bar at the Folie-Berger" by Edouard Manet but... for real. I think I have a closer approximation to Pisarro than most studio juggernauts right now. So let me give you my impressionistic word painting of Kim Jung Gi. It is natural, like Isaac Asimov predicting the internet in Foundation. The ego of the Emperor is fruitless against a truth or koan. And as Hakuin, the zen master laughed, "even nobles must shit in the woods sometimes." So there is nothing special. You are already Kim Jung Gi. You are not his experiences. You are his emptiness. There is no expectation. So all numbers cease. And yet... when they cease, all numbers become apparent. Alan Watts speaks of this often. Winning through non-expectation of result. ______________________________________ His "mini-me" is an interesting language translation barrier I think. It is merely "awareness" in English. Translating anime often has the same issues, even if it's not Romanji. It is also an intersectional discussion point as Aphantasia is surfacing in the present. Perception is a lie according to the Eastern distillation of thought which gave rise to physics level math. Mental imagery to me, is a mathematical concept because those with aphantasia are still able to intentionally create. Thus there is an engine inside that is not innate. So I am attempting to pass what may or may not be very visible to those without synesthesia. Our mechanics are all very individual. We cannot say synesthesia or aphantasia. They are not opposite. They are one. One may just have a chemical limitation of some sort that the brain works around. Just like synesthesia is most likely caused by PTSD (in my opinion) and could easily become a disorder without meditation. ______________________________________ Most speedy artists have suffered GRAVE dangers. Jack Kirby (fastest comic book dude right?) Got shot at in WWII. Stan Lee? His father was volatile in the home environment during the depression. This is when he began writing. Da Vinci? He was nearly killed as a teen for rumors of being homosexual. He also may have suffered a seizure in a cave according to legend. The joke is that he saw aliens on the mountain but that is colorful and humorous ahaha Or that math is extra-terrestrial meaning beyond what is visible. That is a true fact. He wrote a 10 layered puzzle box that reads like Walt Disney's Fantasia in essence. Even includes the same ending. Da Vinci was Yensid in this story. His apprentice was Mickey. And Fantasia is also an allegorical representation of WW1 with Mickey as the Kaiser. It is very evident when you look at it. Even accounting for confirmation bias it checks out. "Storm of Steel" by Ernst Junger was a journal of a man who survived all 4 years of WW1 and invented storm trooping trenches. His depictions of shock are the same as those Walt used with color and sound at the start of his film. Over saturation, shocks of shapes that pattern... It may be PTSD that allows us to see the cypher... But who would want to go through that? I have and wouldn't wish it on anyone! I've been exposed to black mold and witnessed by brain stall out in college. I suffered similar last year form stress but prevented a full on episode in the nick of time. At that time, the brain is absorbing information at a rate that will destroy you. The more you question if every second is going to be your last in a near death experience, the faster your reasoning power accelerates. Each second becomes a very long time. It stretches and most would say "this is heaven" if you've ever closed your eyes and accepted that you have "failed" to prevent this darkness from swallowing you. When you give up, your brain changes. It has swallowed itself and the self whole. It is a dangerous thing. There are easier ways to access this than what happened to these Proper Nouns I list out. Do not follow me to where I have been. Allow me to provide what you may glean instead. _____________________________________________ So what is that cypher right? What is the application? Well Jack Kirby and Sengai have the similarity of saying that the way they drew was based on three shapes. Circle, Square, and Triangle. Metaphysically, every idea in the universe is based on this. Why? Because it is based on the eye. It is only one of your sensory tools. What would you do if you engaged all the senses? Feymann invented a method of memory that is neurologically accurate. Combine any one thing with an emotion and it is remembered almost immediately as opposed to attempting to recall something. This is the difference between "knowing" and "understanding". Many know of art and artists nowadays. But no one is very understanding of the deeper aspects beyond what they are depicting. Without "Understanding"... all art is shallow and merely shapes arranged to hopefully convey a confetti of emotions to someone else. Ever feel a fake smile? "Painted Smile" by some corporate office? I study Joseph Campbell so watching Star Wars take a nose dive was unfortunate because they were very close to saying some pretty cool things but had very poor understanding of their base material. Adding Ego to a Zen Samurai story... how amateur. Can't blame em, they were enamored and let it get to their heads. A symptom of this entire Hollywood Bubble. Pop pop ahahaha Call me Socrates. I'll wrestle over it. Also, the force is Hinduism's view of the universe in my opinion. (They had the center of the Universe calculated 9000 BCE btw) E=MC (squared) amiright? ahahah __________________________________________ So Feymann is already performing what I am suggesting. Every time you associate an item, you must ascribe MORE to it intentionally with your senses fully engaged. Are you lazy learning or truly awake when studying? If so, then metaphorical nesting will be easier and easier. The ability to meditate and nest is almost instantaneous. Edgar Allen Poe How is a Raven like a Writing Desk? Both are MAD says the March Hare. But is the March Hare mad or just odd to Alice's youthful understanding of Wonderland? Slap a vinn diagram and link unlike things. How is murder like love? That's Noir. How is Stan-Lee like the 8-fold path? Spider-Man! How is Pink like Ice? It is Italian shaved! Those are single answer results. How is France like Germany? Neighbors Wine European Ancient History War Those are multiple answer results. Nest your emotional reactions in a vinn diagram and pull em out like Slim Shady in a rap battle! Make a quip like Stan Lee! Take a line and make it anything like Kim Jung Gi! I can be you and you can be me with super-ego Nietzschean empathy! Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Whoops, sorry that was me. ahaha All that restricts you is time. The answers arrive when you stop looking. Do you know that when you are still, the universe is still moving? We are never in the same place twice when standing still. So stop. Cease and watch. The Cypher is there the more you are still mentally. And in this stillness is speed. That's Bruce Lee. <3 Jeet Kune Do does not exist. You say it and it disappears. It is water. Water is air. Air is ice. Ice is Water. _________________________________ Because when you change your mind, you change all of perception. That is why it is false. It is not a reality for everyone but relativity is a fact according to Einstein's theory being proven true by LIGO in 2016. So we are universes talking to each other. Reality to Reality. Person to Person. How can a galaxy give a galaxy a planet? Has to move the planet or teleport it as I see it. The mind must think THROUGH or along a route but when we associate and nest memory intentionally in this way, it becomes more akin to teleportation as we practice this mathematic metaphysical stillness of self-no-self numerology. The brain becomes an SSD and skips the need for PTSD. That is why I write this. My grandfather was killed by alcohol as well. I do bartend and so I am a safeguard for men following his path. I would never want people to suffer to attain this insight as Gogh, Pollock, and others may have. I've walked where death is a daily possibility. I wish different for others. ___________________________________________ Stephen King himself walks into this Platonian wrestling ring and says "reading is telepathy". So the voice and ethos you hear is in fact my soul even now. Because it is read inside your head. But what if you didn't have a voice in your head reading my words and you merely understood? That is Eastern Language. Immediate registry. Like Brail stabbing you in the eye. ahahaha Become a speed-reader and what you find is that the voice disappears unless you recall it. This may be Kim Jung Gi's secret. He's so still that you are paying for his brain's processing power. He studies for weeks and then executes in one fell swoop. This is the way of "comprehending" what you are creating rather than "knowing" the idea you'd like to give another. Also, WandaVision (Marvel) recently hinted at this concept too on Disney+ if you have it. The Ship of Theseus exists apart from its pieces. It ascends to "divinity". There is no android. There is no data. There is no Vision. There is only "being". What happens when 2 exist as 1? What if 3? That is Zazen. Past, Present, and Future witnessed all at once. Metaphor. The metaphysics is being expressed by everyone all the time. We must attune our sensory organs with stillness to witness it more accurately and convert it into whichever medium we choose. Lupe Fiasco drops "MURAL" as a song to show verbally what Jackson Pollock witnessed. I'll take a stab at neebly knees Neville-Longbottom lookin H.P. Lovecraft. He saw Dormammu, i.e. the black dot of the Yin Yang symbol and was absorbed by it. A danger all Buddhists walk carefully. To misunderstand suffering is quite a cosmic mistake. I'll summon Robert E. Howard and be Conan the Barbarian while I rip his non-Euclidean monsters to shreds. Call me Doctor Strange. I got time on my side. Why not use his Lupe Fiasco's math? His lyrical bars are divided into musical math on YouTube channels like "Spited" (Spit-Education). Rhymes are always 2. 2 is a prime. A B A B A A B B A B A A B ^ those are algorithms (Think in patterns) you can use for small, intermediate, and large shapes in design language. The result is always gold. Stan Lee knew how to do it. He studied this too on accident. After all, you naturally pick up things around you and he worked with Dr. Seuss in Manhattan during WWII making army manuals as quick as can be. The world was ending you see. Then again, isn't it ending every day recently? I wonder how many new Stan Lees I can help if they find this ahaha I even rhyme on accident all the time! Ain't it a crime doc? I just wrote that paragraph and it's actually a rap... Stan-Lee does the same. The ending just doesn't rhyme. That's the game. The Way This Is ahahah Yoda Flow all in my business Learned Hiragana, Mora-time Now I'm flyin turn the planet around on a dime. I just gave you a reality inside of your mind xD <3 _______________ So in application all I have said has been a roundabout "proofing" of the existence of this 6th sense. You should be able to take any piece of art, any object on the ground, and use nature as math to determine why a pebble is interesting and then extrapolate it to say "heavy" here or "loose" there, etcetera. It will depend on the moment-to-moment. Which is like... balance, contrast, etc. But nature has made it mathematically. “Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.” - irreverent of the words but reverent of their intention, I think you could say that is a description of fibonacci's spiral, fractals, and is prime numbers in the essence. That is an excerpt from the King James Bible. Nirvana is in the here and now. Heaven is on earth. Every text says that there is no passage of time which brings you this kingdom. Even in an unreligious aspect, these cultures are describing what art and math are saying also. ______________________________ Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto was an engineer first before a game designer. The title game design is also Magician or "Mathematician". It is all slight of hand. He used calculators to generate unpredictable results. If you study the standard card deck and know that 53 is a prime, then there are actually 53 cards in every deck with YOU being one of them. Walt Disney captured this concept of expansion in making his waiting lines theatrical. Your experience is by design at all times. The entirety is produced. Art is everywhere. That is why Disneyland is magical. Merchandise is just vanity and I'm sure George A. Romero can speak for me on that front. So how would I do that? How would Walt? How would Stan Lee? (who also was known as Gabby by the by. He hated that. Never shutting up is a skill we should all use if aren't speaking fluff. Better to use the voice before we die ahahah) How would I become math? How would I go into your universe perception (mind) and exist there knowing the idea is good? I would suggest major amounts of empathy. Meditation on Empathy. Acting. Metaphor. BECOMING something else intentionally for a small segment of time. As a martial artist, I cannot predict my opponent. Thus, you wait for his attack. Then you react. But in training I train as if I am him. I answer his questions from all angles. That is why I refer to South Korean Martial arts and Kim Jung Gi being intertwined in some small way. Miyamoto Musashi writes in The Five Rings that all actions are offensive. Even defensive actions are offensive if you land them in your favor. You may also take it as Wabi Sabi. There is no imperfection. Said from the Hollywood angle (crudely), "Fail fast and fail often". But there is no failure. A mistake is only a mistake if it is concluded to be or your opponent (distraction from original intent) gains the upper hand and begins to control the battle. Walt Disney captured this concept well in making his waiting lines theatrical. Your experience is by design at all times because he walks in your shoes and accounts for all angles. This is the ULTIMATE answer of numbers and composition. You must see the art as the audience beforehand. You must visualize. Even with aphantasia, you may say words that you understand to get a feeling. "Jubilant" "Cantankerous". Each are so individual in meaning and scope that pre-meditating them is a math and language. It is not that any great art is spontaneous but that it is logical for the artist himself. In this truth we see that synesthesia and aphantasia do not help nor hinder. Art is an answer to questions the artist is asking himself. The audience is merely witness. A Prime is a question. A square Root is an answer. In other terms: A Prime is Concept art. A Square Root is Illustration. Both are mathematical engines of the visual language. Metaphor is putting a power over an integer. All are one. Namaste. <3 P.S. If you made it this far, you're quite the trooper. Give yourself a pat on the back just for dealing with my waterfall of a motor mouth.
