Hi I'm Yiming... I love doing line art and also some paintings. I've been practice traditional painting with gouache and gradually applying stuff I learned back to my ink drawings and I think I'm doing okay as an amateur guy who dabbles around XD OH and I love Sergio Toppi!

Hey Yiming, awesome stuff here! You've got two of my favourite things. Clean linework and engaging perspective. I think they are all fantastic, but the interior shot of the passenger seats really stands out to me. That, and the unfolding landing gear on the plane. I can only imagine all the construction lines; it would be great to see some process shots of your art. Keep up the great work!

OH Thank you Jared! For those images, I first do like a 3*2cm thumbnail to get the general flow, and draw the big shapes in rough angles on the paper. Then I gradually clarify the perspective, and do that also with some exaggerations and to show what I want in certain framing. It's not very obvious in the images I posted, but I don't do perspective strictly (although mostly it's still pretty linear because I'm familiar with the look of it now I can do it somewhat naturally), If you see the left bottom of the oil rig or the interior seat in the third image, they don't actually line up that well. If you reconstruct it with linear scale, that person would be floating half in the air. However I think this composition shows the movement more clearly so it's not that obscured by the object in front, which is a common problem in strict linear perspective drawings. I also wrap thing a bit, so it's sometimes curvy-linear like fish-eye, but only do that when I specifically want something in the centre to have a better focus. Otherwise like shown here with wide angle linear perspective, you can really stretch out the edges and show the depth and a sense of concentration. I don't do much process shot rn... maybe I can find a few phone photos while I draw those. I do all those on (not particularly thick) paper so I hesitate to move it back and forth trying to scan those multiple times.
