Hello we have a question. We homeschool our two children and would like to know if there is a basic drawing course on here they could take? We have watched some youtube videos and really like how you present your information. We Want our children to start their artistic journey with the best foundation possible. They are 13 and 9 years old thank you for any advice/ help.

Asked for help
Greetings, Proko community! My name's Joseph and I'm a 3D Character artist, without a foundation. I've joined Proko because I want to be entirely an artist. I want to learn art fundamentals and how to draw in 2D. Basically want to learn what an art school teaches its students. The reason I want to learn is that I want to be a professional 3D Character Game Artist. I've realized without foundation... I'll suffer a lot! I want to purchase a course, but I don't know which one is suitable for me (according to my case). I'm devoted to spending 3h+ a day on learning. Please help! Thank you!

There are a lot of really great options out there for someone in your position. The figure drawing course is great- I have just begun Dorian Iten's course on the fundamentals and it's also a great option. If you wanted to seek additional resources outside of this platform, I can't recommend Dynamic Sketching with Peter Han enough. I just wrapped up the most recent session with him and I will be joining in the next one in the coming weeks. It is worth noting that there is a lot you can achieve by yourself alongside these courses if you're motivated. I would recommend having some books alongside your courses. To supplement, and fill in any gaps. There are so many to recommend! These are the books in my collection I go back to the most: How to Draw - Scott Robertson Dynamic Bible - Peter Han Framed Perspective Vol. 1 - Marcos Mateu-Mestre Any of the fundamentals courses on this website will get you running- pull the trigger on one and get moving. Refund and try another if the first pick isn't your speed. Getting started will teach you much. Good luck on your journey!

Honestly I would suggest Figure Drawing Fundamentals to anyone looking to improve their figure drawing. It is an amazing course! I would pair it with some perspective study as well. I'm not really sure where you are as an artist, but I feel like pretty much anyone would benefit from the Fundamentals class.

Hey James! Good question and sorry for the late reply! @Stan Prokopenko has a basics course planned for the very fundamentals of drawing. In the mean time, if you're comfortable with them drawing nude figures. His figure fundamentals course is a really good pick for the basics of drawing. It's more advanced, but it teaches a lot of the same concepts. If you're looking for other more appropriate resources, I highly recommend checking out https://www.ctrlpaint.com. Those guys have a really solid curriculum for the basics of drawing, and then use those concepts to explain how to do more complicated stuff.
