I haven't been drawing/painting much since I got burn out but I these 2 things.I did the first for an illustration for a fanfic. The second is a cover illustration of NAtsuo Kirino's book,Real World, that I would like to submit to the contest that's running now.I would like to know if any of the part in these works are boring/not clear.I would also love if anyone could tell me if any part of the work isn't working.(I've also attached a bucnh of reference I used for the first drawing,so I would also love if anyone could tell me if the character are on model or not) Also as always, @Christopher Beaven any thoughts?

The idea of the first drawing is very good, but is completely flat, i think you have chosen a very difficoult scene to draw. In my opinion, you should restart the drawing completely, simplify the composition, make a perspective grid and then you can worry about the style. It will take a bit of time but the final result will be better

Thanks for your tips, I have very good https://schriftarten123.com/ font site when you need a paragraph. The website will give you a preview of the font and you can see if it fits your design or not.

I recognized Guts instantly in that first illustration. His body does feel a little flat in that shot- I'd try and find a reference of someone lying down (his arm/shoulder also seem to be coming off the bedroll?) - but I feel his head shape/expression is clear. Ricket might need some more detail on his face- he almost felt ghost like/faded out into the background. Miura was brilliant when it came to his confidence in linework. You've chosen a VERY challenging style to mimic. It is a great start!
