Drawing Basics Exercise 1 -- Simplify Pear Feedback Request

Hello!
I just started Drawing Basics and I would like some feedback on my pear. I had a hard time with the second-to-lightest value as I thought it was mentioned in the video not to have too many distinguishable pencil lines for the different values. But upon looking at the video again, I think I just misunderstood. Anyway, I appreciate any advice or thoughts!

Good stuff! I think you'd benefit in making your shadow values darker, and that might help with your lighter tones as well. You did well with keeping your pencil strokes neat, as well as not having the shape outlines of your highlight darker than the value around it. Keep it up!
Thanks for your feedback! It is definitely very light overall. I used an HB pencil for the whole thing, so I struggled to get darker values. When I watched the demo video after drawing it, I realized that I could have used other pencils too. Live and learn!
