Dog portrait

I painted a portrait of this cute doggo. I have a very specific question (yet other feedback will be appreciated): Is the usage of so many different brushes irritating or does it still look professional?

I love your style, the color harmony and pattern of your brushstrokes. I found a minor proportion issue. I find that the eyes are not in the same height.

I tried using the brushstrokes more purposefully for this one. Yet somehow I lost some of the form in the process. I'll sleep on it for a night and try to look at it with fres eyes again tomorrow.

It looks good. Keep in mind that detail draws the eye, so it may be a good idea to use broader or more general brush strokes in the areas that are not the focal point. For example, your brush strokes really shine around the eyes and ears, but may be slightly distracting on the neck? Regardless, this is a beautiful portrait and one that anyone could proudly hang on their wall.

thanks Andy, I agree, softer ans wider brushstrokes on the neck would make the details of the face stand out more

I personally do not find it irritating. Mixing up the brushes is a good way to avoid the monotonous and repeating patterns of digital brushes.
