This is my latest digital painting. I wanted to really try to maintain the gesture I saw in the reference. I did this by starting with a gesture drawing before adding any details. I have to say dancers are really good to look at when working on gesture, they're very expressive with their bodies. Thanks for looking :)
Your digital paintings are always very instructive. I think of them as a sort of demo of what is possible for someone who pays attention to the fundamentals.
I like the stylistic nuances as well. The TV fuzz, and the way the gradient and stomp effect look like they came from 1950's era special effects.

I'm glad you find the painting instructive. You are completely right, This painting was done using the fundamentals, gesture, anatomy, drapery and value structure. If we really hammer away at those fundamentals, we will one day find ourselves as artists :)
