Caring for Kolinsky Brushes

Hello Proko Land! Decided to take the plunge and invest in some Bristol board and Kolinsky sable brushes and was wondering is there some things that I should be aware of so I don't ruin them XD. I bought a cheaper pack of 8 for 25 bucks and a single "nicer" one for 24 dollars... yes they're on the cheaper side as far as Kolniskies go but it's expensive to me!
For synthetic brushes I use Ivory soap and room temperature water to clean them before I I shape them and lye them flat on a paper towel to dry overnight. Can I do the same with Kolinskeies? I know they sell brush soap/conditioner but not sure if that's overkill or actually viable.
Any answers or further insight would be greatly appreciated.

You should be just fine with ivory soap and water to clean these, but if you notice ink or pigment build up over time grab a small tub of Masters Brush Cleaner to throw into the cleaning rotation. It's fairly inexpensive, available at most art/craft stores, and lasts a VERY long time! It's a really good option for a deeper clean, it conditions the bristles, and can help train stray hairs back into shape if you leave some clean soap lather in the brush and reform the tip before it dries. When using them to paint or ink, dip just enough of the bristles to fill the body of the brush, try to keep ink from getting sucked up into the ferrule as much as you can, and make sure not to let any ink or paint pigment dry up there. When pigment gets into the ferrule and dries thats when your brush will start to split and lose it's point. Looks like you're ready to start slinging ink! A tip from Marvel inker Mark Morales, be sure to tape your inkwell down to your surface before you take the lid off! I have an old thrifted ashtray I keep my ink bottle taped to so it has some heft, and a wide base so it doesn't tip. Have fun with your new brushes!!
Thanks for the tips Patrick! I've been using my dip pens off and on (mostly off) for a few years now without any inking disasters. I was able to ghetto-fabricate a work station out of an old desk drawer and a mini craft box from Michael's. The large lip keeps the Perfume bottle (now ink jar) pretty securely in place. I'll keep a closer look and see if there's any wobbling. I may look into Velcro-ing the jar into the sides.
