Have recently been drawing again after a years lull. Did some sketches of fruit to warm up cause its been a hot second, turned out better than expected - feel like it was good representation of the form but the quality of shading is messy ans directionless and I don't think I demostrated a clear enough difference between each value. I have included a screenshot of another artist on here who's shading i will try to work rowards next time as it's super impressive and crisp. Decided to learn about reilly finally which i've really been enjoying! Feel it's really helping me to understand the form of the face in terms of the fleshy bits(?! - its late dont judge me( and how light and shadow behaves in the context of these forms. Generally need to work on hair as I was definitely making some hopeful decisions without direction and I think that shows 😅 Still need to work on confidence with my lines and get used to using charcoal in overhand grip. Overall pleased with my progress though😊 Critique always welcome.
