An Art journey and progress- horse head

I would like to share with you my recent journey, which actually started before December 5th, 2025. I was sitting at my table, drawing a horse because my boss asked me to make it for a flyer with a horse on it. “It cannot be so difficult,” I thought. Back then, I had practiced drawing human faces- not by memorizing them, but by understanding planes and shapes, so I could draw any form at any time. So, I thought drawing a horse head would be easy.
Oh, how not humble I was to think that way, that I could draw it perfectly in just one hour that evening! Being so overconfident, my frustrations began to rise, but at the same time, I felt a huge hunger to get the horse right.
It took me months to study further, and it turned out to be a beautiful journey. Not only did I learn anatomy, but this journey also revealed many of my weaknesses and gave me the chance to improve them. Suddenly, it wasn’t just about the horse’s head, it was about ears, straps, twisted forms, hair, line weight, cast shadows… it covered so many areas and gave me the chance to learn while creating something cool.
I’d love to share the final work and the journey behind it with you. Hearing about your experiences with such projects while being an aspiring artist. Any feedback or thoughts on this will help me and I will appreciate it a lot. . Thank you, and happy drawing in 2026!
Amazing journey. It's really cool seeing the changes from first drawing to the last painting.
Beautiful! This definitely gives me extra motivation to sit down and practice today (v:
