individual attempt on the top and attempt with the video on the bottom (sorry for any scribbles!). I gotta say that learning anatomy along with perspective, or more specifically trying to combine the two like he does is a lot harder and more frustrating than I thought. Maybe it’s because he’s been doing this longer, but still. Is there any possible way to make it easier?

Hey guys, this was day 2 of gesture drawing practice. I think I'm getting better with the 2 minute practice, but I can't say the same about my 30 sec practice. I think it might be because I'm worried about getting as much right as possible with such little time, and I think worrying about the time constraint in general is my biggest problem, along with excessive focus on accuracy and proportions. Constructive critique and advice is appreciated! Also, any thoughts on erasing parts of a gesture drawing for housekeeping purposes would be great.

hey, i think you are doing a lot of chicken scratching, what it means you are drawing with small lines rather than a long confiednt lines, and i see you focusing more on the contours rather than the line of action. what you should do is, try to capture the form in as little lines possible. like using a single line from the shoulders to the base of the feet , and they shouldn't be that straight too. don't worry about structure yet as we are still in gesture watch more of proko's example to undertsand what should be done. and don't be shy to watch the videos more than once to assure your understanding of the concept. I actually did gesture drawing wayy before like mid to late 2020 watching his youtube videos and i did the same as you but more people told me to stop with the chicken lines and focus on the line of action and what im feeling. i took tooo much of a break and now im trying to do gesture again. it's important to reinforce what you learned again and again. good luck on your art journey .
