The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman is I think one of the best written sci-fi fantasy stories out there. I immediately picked this book when I saw this challenge as it remains one of my all time favorites. Here is my final full cover as well as some closeups for details.

When I was a kid, I read nothing but Darren Shan books. Lady of the Shades was one of my favourites because of all the dark twists and turns and the crazy ending.

This is my submission for this month challenge, I've decided to illustrate Bram Stoker's Dracula and i designed the illustration to give a horror feel but also keep the character of Dracula mysterious like it is described in the book. I've also added some elements in the bottom part of the illustration to give some clues to what type of book is ahead. I've used only 3 colors: red, yellow and some blue. Let me know what you think.

Here's my entry! I had a lot of fun designing the cover, especially since I hate how the German one looks haha

This is my book cover for the Favorite Book Cover challenge... it was very hard to decide on a single book but I went with The Call of Cthulhu from the many works of H.P. Lovecraft

Love that colour palette! <3 And chucking the font on the obelisk was a nice detail. Really makes it stand out.

I'm so excited about this challenge! I made a cover for the Book 'A Murder Most Unladylike' by Robin Stevens - I love children's book illustration and am personally not a big fan of the original covers, so this was very fun to do! I used a limited color palette - staying with cool greens and warm red/oranges as a contrast.
The line work is done traditionally with pencil - colored in digitally, with a traditional gouache texture.
the prompt was inspired by the Penguin Book Awards prompt - but I was not able to actually participate due to not living in the UK. I put a lot of work into this cover, so I'm very excited to be able to show it to people on here!

I love the texture you've used for the background! Absolutely beautiful.
This is so professional. Also- little details like the magnifying glass on the M :) Very cool.

I recognized Guts instantly in that first illustration. His body does feel a little flat in that shot- I'd try and find a reference of someone lying down (his arm/shoulder also seem to be coming off the bedroll?) - but I feel his head shape/expression is clear. Ricket might need some more detail on his face- he almost felt ghost like/faded out into the background. Miura was brilliant when it came to his confidence in linework. You've chosen a VERY challenging style to mimic. It is a great start!
"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" has got to be one of my favourite novels ever. Had a lot of fun thinking of ideas for this.

Cirque Du Freak was one of my absolute favourite books as a kid. I had to draw Madam Octa taking centre stage. I always wanted to draw her, so this was the perfect excuse :)
Since she was red and blue, I threw in purple. I learnt a lot from this one.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's entries <3

My entry for 'favourite book covers'. One of my favourites from h.p lovecraft 'the colour out of space', ink and promarkers.

Can I have some examples of Traditional feel? :) What era/book covers should I look at for inspiration? I'm getting Rupert Bear comic vibes?

I had so much fun with this one. I thought I missed the deadline- then realised I had another day so powered through. Mixed my love of stained glass into this one.
I'm calling it an Ocu-Auris (play on Eyes and Ears) - It's a surveillance drone. I gave it a solar array that works as a dish, multi lens camera and translucent antennae to help feedback information. I imagine they're built to glide and catch sunlight. I can see them settling on old skyscrapers where they follow the sun like sunflowers.
I'm not so grump...but Arin might be.

Hello everyone!
I chose Billie Eilish as the influencer for this challenge.
I chose a dog as the animal because I wanted to use her clothes as a fur pattern for the animal.
