Bret parson aka blitzcadet is a huge inspiration for me. I really like his absurd characters and line quality. To study his art in this way was a great challenge and really fun. Learned a lot about his drawing style and what it is that makes it stand out. So helpful!

First attempt.

Here's my first shot at the loose sketching from observation. Could be a little more sketchy. It was hard not to lose myself in the details of the VR girl. I chose to draw with coloured pencils for a change! I thought it would look fun, but I also knew these don't erase well and so I wouldn't erase guide/sketchlines. Which for this project seemed helpful!

Also made the level 2 drawing... Doesn't really look like the guy on the picture, but that's ok :-P

It's harder than I thought. Shading could be improved :P

I like to draw cartoony characters. But I want to learn the fundamentals the right way, that's why I'm joining this course. I also want to have more fun with the proces and not focus too hard on the end result... I already like the way Stan teaches. :-) Looking forward to the first drawing lessons. Here is a sketch I made yesterday evening. :-P
