I used more references than I am posting here. I found the front perspective very challenging. Also by looking at the references again I see how I missed the angle the legs are attached to the torso.

After doing the first attemt way too detailed and probably missing the point of the exercise I set the timer to 10 minutes to finish the second attemt in order to shift the focus away from details to more confident lines.

Got carried away a bit with fun details on the space theme but Stan asked us to have fun :-) The other two I tried to do really quickly in order to stay loose

I found it incredibly challenging to capture the shapes of the laces and wiggled my way there. Somewhere in between I had to pause the project until I had ordered a Mono zero in order to clean out the laces. I feel like I captured the shape of the shoes ok but was unable to focus on line quality.

I felt like the camel was way easier to capture shapewise than all the other pictures, even the snail. Anyway, after doing it rather precisely the first time I tried a second time with more focus on line quality and meet the objective of the excercise.

I tried to do more simple and clear lines when I did the second one

My pear. I have tried some veggies before I used Stan's pear picture and often times I found it very challenging to distinguish between actual brightness and varying colours in the surface of the fruits.

I can see now how I totally missed those shadows next to the mouth on the brighter side

Thank you. I do agree that the lighter half tone is hard to spot. I wonder if a smoother paper would make it easier to work with the lighter tones.
