When you make an armature with wire, or aluminum foil, or plastic, how do you remove it before firing ??

If I'm going to remove the armature I'd do it with a plastic bag and paper mostly so I could cut the portrait in half ear to ear and then remove it from the armature and reassemble it with slurry and scoring the connection once it's hollowed out.
