Hi Marco, this set of images is practices using your lecture as an example. I wouldn't dare to practice like this before due to a lack of understanding of color temperature and values. I am much more confident now. Your lectures helped me navigate this sea of information that we know as the internet. Your Youtube video was enormously informative too. Using the information you have given me, I hope I can travel on the journey of continuous learning as far as life will take me.

Hi Marco. I used this lecture as an opportunity to move on to some simple still life. This is the first time I have painted from real life instead of pictures. Understanding color temperature and value differences really helped me make conscious choices even though the subject and background have complementary colors. I will paint more spheres as you advised and use that as the basis for color choices in more of my practices in the future.

I agree with jcarter. Edge and value control will help you add depth to the first and second drawings. Take Marco Bucci's class "The Color Survival Guide" or just search for him on Youtube. You can learn color theory from him. His class will help you with the third and fourth paintings. These two paintings can also benefit from using more edge control.

Hi Marco. I am still focusing on adding more color variation while maintaining color harmony. I gained a deeper understanding of how color travels after rewatching this lecture. Mainly, by using the contrast of color, it does not take color to complete the full journey to the "opposite" side in order to show variation and contrast. In this painting, I sneaked in some blue and purple into the shadow of grapes. I added green and red to the pear. I also played with soft, semi-soft, and hard edges after watching some of your YouTube videos. Thank you for the quality lectures. I will continue to apply these concepts in more still life paintings from life (so far these are all painted from pictures). I am also ready to do some master studies as shown in the next lecture.

Hi Marco, thank you so much for this course. In this chapter, you helped me "see" the temperature of colors and how warm or cool light affect the object and its environment. I am more conscious when looking at the color of light sources, the local color, reflective light, and shadows now. Your Youtube video about ambient occlusion also helped a lot. Many thanks, and all critiques are welcome!

Hi Marco, thank you so much for the course. In this chapter, you really helped me understand how to transition from one color to another, even though they can be complementary to each other. I learned to use a more neutral tone to bridge two colors and transition from warm to cool, or cool to warm. This principle appeared the most on the cliff that had reflective light, which appear to be blue, although this was a warm color study. I wouldn't have understood this without this chapter, thanks again. All critiques are welcome.

Hi Marco, thank you for the course. You really helped me understand the temperature relationship and color harmony. Each color study I did, I tried to incorporate a new lesson learned from you into my painting. In this chapter, I tried to make the "white wall" of this garden more visually interesting using a variety of colors. Thanks again, I can't wait to see how the next chapter will inspire me. Critiques from everyone are welcome. I hope in the future I can learn how to achieve more loose but realistic texture for a variety of subjects. I kind of stumbled a little on the rocks and trees.
