Hey y'all, This is a linocut reliefprint. (Basically means that I carved a big ol' stamp and squashed some paper into it) When I was a kid, I always used to dress up as a samurai for Halloween, so I thought it would be cool to do a skull with a kabuto helmet. Good luck everyone!

Thinking about Halloween, I decided to make it both scary and kind of cozy piece - still life with skull and pumpkin. I was inspired by 17-18th Century Dutch artists who painted mystic and comfy atmosphere so amazing. Happy Halloween to you all!

I finished the book recently and I was kind of surprised that there weren't more interesting book covers for such an iconic book, so I took a crack at designing my own. Hi, I posted two book covers and realized nobody does so. Is that ok?

The Little Prince was the first book I remember reading in its entirety, I'm never been a good reader actually, thus that one felt like an accomplishment, with the years I kept coming back to it, is quite an interesting and rather philosophical little story. Through more than three decades since I read it, I notice that even when is a very well known title and character, very few people has actually read the full book, don't know why, maybe people think is for little kids? (not quite). One of its highlights is been the illustrations, possible some of the most iconic in the last century, thus I felt a bit daunting to choose this book for the challenge, at the end is for me paying homage to the story that stirred my mind since I was a kid. Original piece was done with Ink on Bristol paper, final is a digitally colored.

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" has got to be one of my favourite novels ever. Had a lot of fun thinking of ideas for this.

Doyle, who everybody knows very well, and Mindia from mythical poem "Snake-Eater" by great Georgian poet Vazha Pshavela. I wanted them to look more traditionally drawn than digital

I always wanted to see more illustrated covers on professional literature. Psychology is an especially good topic for creativity. Based on that I tried my hand at 'The Uncanny' by Sigmund Freud. Depicting a surreal scene in a realistic rendering, to keep the theme relevant. The initial drawing is done in graphite and coloured digitally. While I kept the typography clean and less creative as it is professional literature, and it needs some strict structure as a balance.

Hello, here are my 5 submissions! As a character artist, this challenge helped me conquer my fear of landscape painting haha. I was able to really push the way I see values, hue shifts, and big masses. Simplifying rocks into simple shapes was pretty challenging and seeing the subtle hue shifts in skies and foliage was tricky as well but I tried my best to apply all of Tiffanie’s tips. I added some imagination on top of some references. In thumbnail #2 for example, I thought it would be nice to “lower” the background trees a bit and make the sky more visible. The software I used is Photoshop. My main tools were selection tools (marquee & lasso), smudge tool, full opacity round brush, as well as a chalky brush for initial blocking and big swooping motions. Reference pictures are all from my home country Morocco. I hope you like my work, thank you! :)
