Hi Everyone! So excited its like writing to Santa. Basically I have flip flopped between wanting to work in game and animation but realised I need to focus much more on my form and fundamentals before specialising. I would spend so long painting fixing drawing mistakes, so any help showing my drawing problems would be greatly appreciated! Appreciate everyone's time. Tom McLean

Really struggling creating characters and drawing in general, so I'm going back over some stuff to try and improve. I think maybe Its my torsos and heads that don't work structurally. Any help really appreciated, especially if its any process stuff/good habits I could be missing!

Having fun with the 2min Gestures. I would love to be able to push the gesture and proportions more but think I just need to get a stronger grasp of form before I do that. Would love to know any areas I can improve! Thanks Tom

Hi there, nice work! I think starting on quick gestures can be quite hard. I still struggle with it! Often you see artists quick sketches that look amazing but they have cleverly hid a lot of other fundamental drawing skills. I would work on thinking of the figure as cylinders and boxes for a bit. Working out which orientation in space those arms and leg cylinders are going and then thinking about gesture. If your figure form is solid you will always start from a good base. But yeah these things take time to learn, like literally years, so don’t beat yourself up. If ever your struggling try learning something else that you think would help you tackle that problem.

Very difficult to think of twist. But I understood I need more and more robo bean practice before mannequinization practice for the whole proportion.

Nice work! I don’t think you are too far off. I always struggle with the twist motion and one thing that helped me was thinking about the centre line of both the ribs and hips. Think about the orientation each ‘box’ is facing in space. For example I think in your first image lower down example the twist is right you have just drawn the centre line in the wrong place. Hope this helps!
