The proportions of both of the faces in the first photo seems a little bit off. 1) On the first face the mouth seems a little bit too high / close to the nose. On the second face the nose and (our left) side of the face seem to be drifting too far left. 2) In the second photo the eyes don't seem to really follow the perspective of the face. The eye on our right looks like it drifted up too high. That being said I think all the other ones are really great. Amazing progress if you've only been at it for 6 months. You really show strong construction of the forms in the 3rd photo. Honestly, I think the issues with the first couple of faces may just be things you already know how to fix and as you get more practice these variances will go away. Just keep on practicing the way you are. It looks like really good progress for only 6 months.

Yup he summed it up, and the second head in the first photo, is the shoulder a bit off?...and all these really do convey that you are getting there, and is that Alfred Hitchcock in the 4th photo?

These are actually good, what are you saying man?...ok I get its not your comfort zone as in the whole process might be daunting, but I assure you this way more than good. Ok maybe I cant asure you, people who actually know composition can come up with some points here and there, but yeah, good work!!

Olga Bruser
Hi my name is Olga I love dark fantasy, worlds such as Dark Souls and Diablo especially the art of Diablo 4. In the last 4 years I'm working for a more casual gaming industry and I create stylized cartoon characters and backgrounds and I find Hearthstone art very appealing and I use it as a source for reference and inspiration. Although I like a wide range of styles, my goal is to reach the level required for creating amazing cards such as Magic the Gathering, Hearthstone and Gwent. Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. As for the AMA, I wanted to ask how artists get an assignment both in Hearthstone and Magic. I saw an artist on Artstation who had mostly realistic human illustrations and after he started working for Magic the Gathering, he created creatures as cards and it made me curious how a task is given, if it depends on portfolio or something else. Thank you

These are most of the gestures I made for the 2m and 30sec exersises. I avoided looking at Stans as much as possible. I have done about a dosen gestures in my life before I think 6 or 7 months ago. The spacer is where it goes from 0.5min and 2min and the first one is from an image of a ufc fight. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

nice, you seem to understand the flow, but as Proko constantly says, proportion and anatomy will help you refine it once you are past it.

Hi, I'm Aaryan. I'm a 19 year old student who is preparing for entrance into the medical field but I was always inclined towards art and still am. I mostly draw from references but I want to develop my own style as well and I'm trying to do it. I haven't learnt any form of art formally. I'd appreciate if you could guide me towards the path that I shall take if I want to go into the art field professionally. I'm attaching the various types of works which I have done recently

your line quality is good, and you look like you can actually see what's happening, instead of copying which I struggle with, but you really do understand how the body twists and turns and about the length thing, well...I don't know. but some of them looks fine. I guess it might be more repetitions and once you get into the proportion part, everything might come together.

so you guys once said, life drawing is the best way to learn right, because you don't learn how to draw on a 2D plane by looking at a 2D picture, right? so what's your take on using video games for figure drawings and landscape drawings? , games like red dead redemption 2 and bloodborne, because you can rotate them in 3D. so do you think it might be a good alternate for a live model?

So I've been binge watching Kim Jung Gi, and I wanted to know why people never teach Curvilinear Perspective? Isnt five point perspective the natural observation skill enhancing perspective style? I know when it comes to most works, the composition part in 5 point perspective can be an overkill, but I dont see people teaching this? Five point perspective is one point, two point and three point, all the same time right? And people dont teach it, why is that? Is it because they kind of expect it to click after you get a hang of all the other points? Or do you think, it might have a place before introducing the one point, two point and three point perspective views?

I can draw now. But i struggle with the pre-drawing preparations like stretching the paper on a board, what board to use, what paper is to be stretched on that board and a million other things that an individual cannot learn without any help and there are basically no one who is teaching us how to do that stuff. I have attached one of my Portraits, i know you must get a million images for critiques and such, but i don't want that. All i want is to say thankyou so so much, because you have taught me this from thousands of miles away and that is like the coolest thing ever. Thankyou for everything !! Love from India !!

Love the first one and the yellow beanie drawing, and about the PS to traditional thing - I have constantly heard pros say, start with the traditional then when you switch to PS, all that you need to know is the tools. but you are kind of right maybe, it might help ease into it, but I think there's also an argument that, since traditional painting doesn't multiple layers, its more challenging right?

I just started portrait drawing, and flatness is something Im struggling with. and I think is flat, like, there isnt an illusion of the head being in 3D space. I could be wrong.
