Ok I did it. My first drawing of a pear. It is completely crooked and I am not sure how I feel about it. Smudges all over the place. But I did it.

Great job. Finishing something is always an accomplishment. Without looking at the reference, the audience won't notice if its crooked (as long as its not too much), and yours is definitely not /too/ crooked :) And softer graphites will smudge more, so be aware of that as you go for darker values :) Great job, again!

hello all, my name is Roana and I am from the Netherlands. As a child I did some drawing but gave up for number of reasons. A year ago I started drawing again. Started with pencils and paper but found I did more erasing then drawing. Went on to digital. And I love(d) it. Did a lot of tutorials and recently I made my own landscape illustration ( see photo). But I don’t have any knowledge of the fundamentals so I want to start over. I’m about to buy the drawing basics course but I am absolutely terrified. My problem is I am a perfectionist and really insecure . Someone who is to hard on myself ( probably like any artist) and don’t know how to change that. It is really holding me back. Any tips on how to be less hard on myself? However that being said I really wanna learn so I’m buying the course.
