Been a while, between illness + kids haven't been able to post. I made a brief attempt at drawing from imagination but I didn't save any reference photos, it's for my kids birthday invites, the theme is "Dragons, Dinner, Donuts." so I thought I'd get some rough ideas down with this exercise. Pics are in poor lighting, sorry about that as well!

I'm more familiar with animal forms, but the shoes got away from me. I don't think I've ever drawn a single shoe.
This is a great try! While the perspective is a little off on the boots, you've still done a great job of simplifying the lines. This is a great foundation to work off of. I think you may be psyching yourself out with the familiarity of the subject. I suggest maybe looking at the reference photos upside down and trying again!
