Well done nanna! Looks great. I love the rendering and design of the mystical creatures. I think those are my favourite. I also like the cropped composition with the fishes and the idea of the girl riding the bird. Keep up the good work

I found this cutie on Unsplash.com and I just had to make a drawing of him, for today’s color study. He took me 1 h. and 20 m. I tried to implement some of @Marco Bucci's advise from yesterdays “The Color Survival Guide” video: https://www.proko.com/course/the-color-survival-guide/overview That video was super inspiring! - I think I could have pushed the color variation even more, but I'll keep practicing. :)

Year that's a challenge.... hmmm... I think I would go to unsplash.com to find a good cat reference - All photos there is free to use. Here is a link: https://unsplash.com/s/photos/cat Maybe you could find one that have the same kind of body type like the cat, and then use it for a reference, and then add the right color on the fur, eyes and markings. I know it is not the same as the real deal. But I hope it can be helpful in some way. Best of luck and happy drawing! :)

Asked for help
I did this color study today (1,5 hour) My goal is to push myself to work fast while also learning something about colors, structure light and shape design. I think the skin and the hand was hard to do, under such short amount of time. Link to reference photo: https://unsplash.com/photos/BthSqlD2Cso

Let's see what the community wants. We were planning on keeping this category clean with only official challenges, but if there is enough interest in allowing user created challenges, I'm ok with it. I can just pin the official ones to the top. Let's VOTE.. Reply to this comment with your thought!

I think that every challenge, that can motivate is good. Both official and user created.

Bonjour, goedendag, hello, nice to meet you all :) I'm Charline from Belgium. I'm was a 3D artist a decade ago then dropped art carreer entirely. I'm back since 2-3 years as a "hobbyist". I aim at drawing european style comics, mostly self-writen stories. I was told about Proko course a year ago and followed some of the anatomy lessons. I'm glad the website evolved into a full art community (and also impressed it's a web assembly site, much appreciated :p). Proko's lessons were among the most useful I found when I was looking for a fresh restart, this plateform has a big potential to help people improve ! I'm unsure how much I will be able to engage, as I have a day job and a lot of commute, but I will give it a try. Also, I made the mistake to join too many art communities for a while and exhausted myself trying to follow everything everywhere. I'm slow pace person and that burned me out quite a bit. Anyway, see you around, have a good day !

Hello, nice to meet you all :) I'm Nanna from Denmark. Right now I'm studying english while also trying to get into an art-school in Denmark. I want to study Graphic Storytelling and learn to make comics and graphic novels. Here is my social media links if your interested: https://nannaskytte.carrd.co/ I've been following Proko for years, and love the lessons here. It's great to have this new website with lessons and the chance to connect with you all. My first two short-comics: "The Trinket": https://nannaskytte.com/the-trinket/ "One day in the HOMESCHOOL" : https://nannaskytte.com/one-day-in-the-homeschool/ and of cause drawings: :)

wao! nice structure. I don't know if this is helpfull for you, but seeing your drawings, reminds me of this lesson i saw today https://www.proko.com/lesson/tb-chois-7-steps-to-drawing/discussions. The images i attached is screenshots from that video. I think it would be cool if you left some of your perspective lines, or builded the animals in "Perspective boxes" like @TB Choi does in this video. I think it's a good tool to keep track of the structure and perspective of "the building blocks". -great work - keep it up :)

Egg values study for lesson on shading light and form basics. This assignment is way harder to do than it might seem at first read, it can scramble your brain!

I think you did a great job! To improve it even more, you could work on the sharp and soft edges/shapes. I’m thinking about the edge of the egg, who has a softer edge, than on the reference photo.   I think your colors is very good. And I know that this lesson you did is about value, who has nothing to do with color. However I have some thoughts about colors, if you want to make them pop even more. if not -just stop reading here xD   Sometimes, when I have finished a piece and find my colors flat, I try to put my drawing into Photoshop and use the tool called "Camera Raw Filter" under "Filter". Here I play with color correction and try to find a better outcome for the drawing. That way you can make your colors more vibrant, and you can also make other corrections. That’s a cool feature and all… but I want to learn how to do better next time. So the most important thing about this, is for me to  analyse the difference afterwards, so I know where to pop the colors even more the next time I do a piece.   -hope it is helpful…  and I hope it makes sense, I’m still working on my English :)

These really bring instant joy, I love the colors, they harmonize but they are also popping so great. I have to study how you do this :D. I would love to be able to use such rich colors better. Love these pieces, thanks for sharing :)

I find all work in different fun levels. Also when it comes to drawing. If I have done a hard study, then I treat myself afterwords working on something I find more enjoyable. I like to have more than one project going at the time, so when I burn out on one, I can gain new energy from the other. I try to keep my workspace cleaned up. And remove potential distractions. (This is very challenging for me. How is this so hard xD )

Thank you very mush @Liandro @Stephen Bauman and @Adam Wiebner This is very helpfull to me. I'll try to work on my proportions and values. I think I'll try to do a lot more quick-sketches and practice my lay-ins.

Hello! I drew 10 figures and... well. Time was really a problem, I guess I was still too focused on contour and proportions. I’ll try to do better tomorrow (when I practice again). All of them were 2min drawings, and I couldn’t complete one because I lacked enough space for it (dumb me, I should’ve drawn that on another page). Comparing the 1st to the last, I think I’ve gotten better :). I also attached some references here (sorry I couldn’t attach all of them, the maximum files I can add are 10). Thanks in advance for anyone who critiques my drawings.

yes if you work on bigger paper you have more freedom. It can be hard to draw fast when you're not use to it. I recommend that you find some reference gesture-drawings you like from a high level artist and analyse how little use of lines they use. Just as a reminder and a reference. Think of it like not drawing the figure, but drawing the energy og the figure. i think these are good, and that you're on the right path.

So beginning once again the Figure Drawing Fundamentals course along with the fresh start that is the awesome launch of Proko 2.0. My very quick gesture studies today are inspired from comics instead of photos, the studies i made are based on some very fun poses in Yancy Labat’s DC Superhero Girls comic.

I think they're looking pretty good! Great job! They defiantly have gesture and I dont know if you are looking for tools, to push it even more? In my experience it is good to exaggerate the gesture, cause some of it will stiffen out while drawing your character. nice with the highlighting! sometimes I find it helpful to draw through the form in gesture.
