Elbow joint. I really enjoy this kind of structural drawing. Nothing demystifies complexity better than simple forms.

Welp, I'm totally intimated by all the awesome projects people are submitting, but here's level 1 and 2 for hand #3! This has been a fantastic exercise. I'm still struggling, but I already feel the improvement from the first hands I did. I don't think there's much else to say but that I'll have to keep doing this again... and again... and again...

Great job! Very cool rendering! You did very well with your level 2 hand (which is very challenging)

Level 1 Hand Mannequins Surprising the 1st drawing went off better in terms of proportions and overall gesture. But other two didn't go so well. Please provide any critique or feedback as how can i improve in this aspect. Your feedbacks are valuable to me.

Great job! I particularly like your first hand and your rendering in ink and marker

This was challenging, I drew each hand a few times and still feel like I missed the proper angles. I had trouble connecting the boxes and definitely had trouble with the foreshortening. Can anybody explain how to overlap the boxes properly? Thanks in advance.

Hi Fabian! You did a great job! Some angles are different from the references but your hands are coherent on their own. I don't know if that will answer your question, but to properly overlap boxes which are related to each other as in this case, there is a technique I saw in a video with @Marshall Vandruff (in the beginning of the anatomy course I think). For fingers for example, after having drawn the gesture (to have good gesture and proportions), you can start with an overall box of the finger, and then cut it into several boxes for phalanges. It helps to gradually visualize these boxes in space

My first attempt for Mannequin Hands Level 2. That was very challenging! Very hard to deal with perspective and to keep accurate proportions and pose. Took a while and not shure about the result. Seems to me a bit distorted, with proportions issues...

Two other rhythm studies. First in pencil. Then I tried to apply these concepts in digital. After which I tried a shading technique using the lasso tool and a textured brush. Very fun technique which allows you to think about the shape of each shadow

2023/10/8. Good afternoon everybody. Here's my latest illustration. I need your help because i get the feeling there's something somewhere doesn't work properly when I try to set a background but I can't say what it is. Sorry. Your opinions would help me a lot. Thanks and have a good Sunday.

I asked proko this but not sure if he will answer. When he says a thin piece of the side plane can be seen from the front, does that mean the side plane isn't totally flat, but curves a bit toward the front? Or does that mean when seen from the top, it is tilted kinda like the first image? In that case, in a profile view, wouldn't the side plane be slightly to the front of the head instead of right in the middle? Or am I misunderstanding something?

The front of the skull is narrower than the back. Side planes are therefore not parallel , they converge towards the front. So you can see them a little when you look at the skull from the front (but not from behind)

Appart from the dynamic shapes studies of seals in the drawing basics course, I continued practicing on poses and portraits shapes. I tried to implement @Steve Lenze and @Martha Muniz 's advices , focusing more on accentuating movements, expressions, less on proportions and details. I tried to find interesting shapes while trying to give the impression of volume. I had a hard time sometimes, especially with the right hand of the man in the centre of the second page (which I had to modify as I never managed to draw the original postion)
