What is this indication above the scapular? Is it the spine of the superior medial edge of the scapular or the inferior medial edge of the middle portion of the traps?

More assignment studies, trying to maintain the gesture of the poses while keeping the anatomy accurate. All feedback is appreciated

Hey guys, i tried to fill in the negative space areas a little with not much contrast to try and draw attention away from the areas. Here is how the colored version is looking so far

My friend recently bought some art from me. So I thought I will surprise them with a new piece inspired by them. I’m going for this lost in the imagination of literature vibe. The aesthetic is disneyesque mixed with a bit of darkness and withdrawn for the main characters a little more.

Hey all, thanks everyone for the advice. I was a bit short for time so i changed what i could. Here’s the finished product. I’m not the best a photographing paintings yet. Hope you like it and if you have any advice for photographing paintings let me know. I usually prioritise ISO then shutter since I don’t want too much dof in photo. And always prefer daylight.

I like this a lot! The colors are amazing, I admire that you can create such a whimsical color scheme :D Also all the details to explore are great. Maybe I would consider putting darker lines in skincolor between the edges where arms and legs meet or put some shadow there. Otherwise good luck, you can be proud!

Hey guys just finishing up on this piece I posted earlier. Its a 50cm x 50cm acrylic piece i wanted to enter into a local comp. Was wondering if you guys have any ideas of things I can add. I need to finish it up by tomorrow. The lighting is pretty bad atm due to it being night time and wasn't able to capture some of the different textures (iridescent/gold, gloss medium etc)

When you were studying at watts, how much time did you devote to learning each day? and how does that compare to now(how much time do you spend on your own art now) ?

I don't think its too old. If you learn effectively you can become professional in 1-2 years

From my gesture drawing practice sessions. I know I am still drawing contour. I should draw more rhythmically but it's really hard. Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated!

Hey Takatomo Homma, Well done with your sketches. The confidence to draw this clean is a skill that a lot of artists find difficult. I drew over 1 of your sketches. I find its best to find the start of the line and the end of the line and then figure out the curve. Have the direction of the limbs go in the same direction. Sometimes the masses go against the gesture.

Hi everyone! This assignment was WAY harder than Stan made it look! Similar to the gestures assignments, it was hard to simplify down to basic shapes, instead of drawing what I see and delving into the fun details. There is also something odd about how the shapes are placed next to each other, but I can't put my finger on it... I'm still on the draw 250 boxes challenge, so I felt the discomfort with drawing cylinders. I also noticed that I wanted to draw regular shapes, e.g., make the back side of a box smaller due to perspective when the structure might actually be bigger in size than the front. Looking back at Stan's work again, I notice that he used a lot more creative, manipulated shapes, like half-cylinders and combinations of boxes and cylinders (e.g., the top shape of the rhino in the critique). I'd like to try incorporating some of those going forward. Clearly, practice would be helpful, but any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!! :)

Hey siqi, you did quite well. Remember to have a clear vision of the form that you're drawing. For instance the tigers torso seems to be much higher than us but within the picture, its slightly below eye-level. I would practice drawing cubes and cylinders from every angle before attempting this assignment.

Tried the assignments and I feel I got them wrong I keep getting the angles of the forms wrong (mainly the pelvis ) and I don't know why I check the landmarks yet any time I look at prokos I'm always off is that normal will it affect how my drawings in the anatomy/shading stage much or am I overthinking? This has been bothering me for a while so any and all criticism or advice would be greatly appreciated

Hey Josh, it's quite difficult to see in your drawings. Maybe use the flash on your camera next time. It terms of landmarks don't be afraid being a little off as long as you identify the the protruding bone is the asis of the pelvis etc. You'll be fine. Everyone's drawing a different.
