Asked for help
Please submit gesture studies! I'm still looking for examples for the critique videos. There will be a little break in video lessons for the sculpture course as Proko is getting ready for the busy holidays but videos should start up again in January. This should give students a chance to catch up and submit assignments for critique videos. I look forward to seeing your work!

I chose a drawing from George Bridgemans Complete Guide To Drawing From Life, and made the sculpture in one sitting. It took me 1 hour and 30 minutes.

I enjoyed making the aluminum wire armature (black wire) with the cranial units and tried some silver wire I found at home, but it was too stiff and making smaller armatures with that wire was tricky I'm going to buy more aluminum wire of different thicknesses.

It is the 3rd or fourth sculpture that I make, it was interesting to use tools that I found at home, as an architect I have quite a few tools that I used during my career, but mainly I use my hands, although with the chavant clay being hard I needed to heat it constantly to have better handling of the material. Nice Challenge to show that it is not necessary to have expensive tools to start sculpting, I hope to improve as the course progresses. Tools: 1. My hands. 2. Aluminum foil. 3. Safety pin. 4. Chavant clay I already had. 5. Back of a brush for smoothing. 6. Toothpick. 7. Old bent X-acto blade for carving.
