its an older project that I kinda revived. the first iteration was fully traditional. painted in watercolor, the process took to long, so I switched over to a mixture of traditional lineart and digitaly.
these are the first couple of pictures.
I absoultely love your stuff Jonas. One thing to work on maybe is in a couple of case where I can see the full length of the torso, it appears to be too short. Use the Loomis etc. head counts to get you to the nipples, navel and crotch.

I choose the metro book series. Here’s a first little planing sketch. Final piece will be done in watercolour. I Might change to a scene that is a little calmer, not that action orientated

A couple of rough sketches. At the moment the one with the tank track is my favourite. Still not sure though what the final piece will look like

I like your character and costume dseign(the gas mask guys are very cool). If I have to give feedback,is that I your linework feel very repetitive, there's not enough variation of thick lines and thins (If possible I would recommend investing in thicker pen or even a cheap brush pen to experiment with, then try to experiment and copy ink master you enjoy)
Of course everything here could be ignored if you were to either A.enjoy this kinda scratchy linework or B.You were to do what moebius does and let the watercolor fill in some of the information for you

Hey thanks. True, didnt use the ink brush for quite some time now. I’ll give it a try 😎👍
I was flipping through your album this morning a realized something that might help you. Your faces sometimes look flat, especially in profile. I think you might want to try emphasizing the brow a bit more (on the men). Give it a try?

Nice work Jonas. Do I detect an influence of Moebius?

realy cool designs, I can't help with the anatomy, cause I couldn't have done this any better. But here is how I would try to make them look even cooler, try to get in a bit more shadow to indicate more volume. I did a couple of rough sketches to get the idea across a little better :)

These are really rad! The design and draftsmanship reminds me of the concept pieces for Studio Ghibli movies. As far as a critique, I'd say maybe push some more line and edge variety to help things stand out more. Right now there are a lot of cool interesting things going on the paintings. Try to push a hierarchy to these as to what's most important in the painting, and make design choices that will help get this hierarchy to work.

Thanks for the critique, ill try to incorporate your suggestions🙏.
I'm glad it reminds people of Studio Ghibli, in a way I'm trying to create something that brings a similar vibe across. So I guess I was somewhat successful with my work :p

OH Wow you must have so much patience! Do you post this project anywhere available online? Would love to know more about it!
Speaking of critique... the most impression I have among these pieces is probably white "show through" are probably a little too much, like the ground area in the first image. But that depends on the style you are looking to achieve, and watercolour do let a lot of white show through.

Well I use Instagram, I don’t use it that much though (jonas._.draws on instagram). Regarding the white spots, some are intentionally left to leave the impressions of reflecting light, and some are just unfinished areas. Ill post an updated foto of this peace, have to say though that it’s still not finished yet.
