I know this drawing is pretty close to the end. There's still a few things that are bothering me; but I want to know what stands out to those who have not seen the original reference: value control, proportions, etc. Side note: I'm still quite happy with it. The first livestream with @Stephen Bauman drastically improved my attitude towards portraiture. I spent at least twice as much time with this drawing as I have for past portraits and really tried to fill in those tiny gaps of information.

Just want to ask if there's a "formula" for plane changes when handling color temperatures. I remember an old Illustration teacher mentioning cool light - warm shadows, but forgot something he mentioned about up planes and down planes. I remember the information being a little counter intuitive, but it making a huge jump in color quality. Thanks and may the internet-connection gods bless ye all on this day. Have to work so I'll miss the stream 😞.

NICE. I'd recommend a 90ish lb sketchbook/paper. It can take a large variety of mediums, but still give you a nice, polished look if you keep your pencils sharp.

Joined a little late, so I started to get greedy. Think I'm gona take a crack at this reference a second time so I can spend some time with the block-in. Think my value unification started to disband the moment I made a hard line >.< Think I also may have aged the model with some of my line quality. Definitely doesn't feel as young as the reference.

FALSE. If this livestream was 6 hours long, I'd be here for it.

Did you post your reference image anywhere? I'm trying to draw along, but having a hard time seeing how and where the lips are overlapping

I feel like I always make the cartilage of the nostrils too tall? Anything specific I should compare it to?

Is it safe to say the mouth in the photo has a few more dramatic angle changes?

That was a wonderful note. That you do NOT start a drawing the same way every time

Would you say this is accurate to your working speed? Or would you say this is slower so you can talk while you demo? Your patience is really admirable! Also, I did it! I finished my profile so I can soak in all of this livestream goodness!

Obligatory first post on Proko 2.0!!! This is a glimpse into my most recent work. I'm experimenting with three-dimensional drawing surfaces to make works that fluctuate between images and sculptures. This work was cut from a larger panel of multiple figures and reworked to be its own image. I really look forward to working through all of the previous proko lessons again and one day joining the champions in the premium section!
