These are my last batch of structure practices. Any feedback would be appreciated. I feel like I understand the fundamental ideas of structure but my work could probably be improved in a lot of ways.

I'm no expert, but I'd say these look great! Maybe try adding some contour lines in some of the forms, to get the 3D illusion even better, but otherwise good work.

Hi, everyone! Posting these ones for critique. I feel like I'm kind of getting stuck with gesture... I just started with gesture a week ago and I've been going really hard at it. I usually warm up for about 15-20 minutes with 30 sec to 1 min poses. After that I do 2-3 minute poses for about two hours every day. For less than 10 days I almost filled a sketchbook (A4) with 100 pages... However, the first 3-4 days were mostly abominations of the figure, but I feel like I'm finally starting to get a grip on proportions. On gesture - not so much, so any advice would be appreciated! I really love the community here and I'm super happy I finally decided to take the Figure Drawing Fundamentals course, and be a part of it :)

These are not bad at all, for what is, I imagine, some of your first gesture tryouts? I'd recommend doing about 20-30 per day for a week and you'll see huge improvement. Also, what I did in the first week, was watch/listen at least once per day (as I was drawing) the "How to gesture" (lesson one from the course). If you want to explore excercies just for the lines, I'd suggest you check out "DrawABox" where the first lessons are focused on line quality and how to get longer, sweeping lines. I'd love to see more of your gestures as you progress, keep it up!

Here is my go at 2 min gesture drawing! I am struggling super hard with keeping proportions and my lines in check and I also chicken scratch pretty hard. Any comment is appreciated!

Those are pretty close to what my first gesture studies looked like. Try doing 20-30 of these everyday, don't rush yourself, even if you don't hit the 2 minute mark it's all good (but don't make it 5 minutes either!). I did it that way for about a week and saw a big improvement. Also check out the Bean (lesson 2) as it helps very much with getting used to the torso proportions. Have fun with it and try to not be too hard on yourself - as Stan put it in the video - gesture is really hard and it takes a long time to get good at it.
